Herpes is common! In the United States, about 1 in 6 people between the ages of 14 and 49 have ge***al herpes (HSV2) and about 2/3rds of people have HSV 1 (the virus that causes cold sores).

Symptoms during an outbreak can be annoying and painful but you do not have to suffer. Speak to your healthcare provider or make an appointment at The Centers to talk with a provider about medication options that could work for you.

For the Fulton office, please call 315-598-4740.
For the Oswego/SUNY Oswego office, call 315-342-0888

Help Shape the Future of Public Health in Oswego County!

The Oswego County Health Department is currently undergoing a strategic planning process to better define our mission, goals, and priorities in today’s evolving public health landscape. As part of this effort, we are committed to serving all communities across the county more effectively. Your input is essential.

We want the voices of the people we serve to help guide our direction for the next 3 to 5 years.

By completing this brief survey, you’ll help us identify our strengths, uncover areas for improvement, and ensure that our services align with the community’s most pressing public health needs. We truly appreciate your time and feedback.

The survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

Knowing how your breasts normally look and feel can help you notice changes, such as lumps, pain, or a difference in breast size. But breast self-exams do not replace regular mammograms! Talk to your health care provider right away if you notice any changes in your breasts. health.ny.gov/diseases/cancer/breast/campaign/

People with an abnormal breast lump should seek medical care, even if the lump does not hurt.
Most breast lumps are not cancer.

Breast lumps that are cancerous are more likely to be successfully treated when they are small and have not spread to nearby lymph nodes.

National Mental Health Awareness Week is observed during the first full week of October, specifically from October 5 to October 11 in 2024, to raise awareness about mental health issues and promote support for those affected.

Don’t skip your mammogram! Why? Because finding breast cancer early may save your life. Talk to your health care provider about your breast cancer screening. If you’re uninsured, the New York State Cancer Services Program may be able to help. https://www.health.ny.gov/diseases/cancer/breast/index.htm
