🌟 About the Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most cherished holidays in Chinese culture. It celebrates the full moon and symbolizes family reunion, gratitude, and harmony. It is a time to enjoy mooncakes, and light lanterns, and admire the beautiful, luminous moon.

🎊 Immerse yourself in a variety of enriching and fun activities that honor this beloved Mid-Autumn Festival tradition:

Mooncake Tasting: Savor traditional mooncakes (you can find them at local Asia markets).

Lantern Craft Workshop: Create your own decorative lantern to light up your celebration and embrace the festival's spirit (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeZKYGmuZn0).

TCM Insights:
1. Autumn is associated with the Metal element. This season is linked to the lungs and large intestine, which are believed to be more susceptible to imbalances during this time.
2. As autumn progresses, the weather cools and daylight shortens, leading to a decrease in Yang energy (warmth) and an increase in Yin energy (coolness). TCM emphasizes the need to balance this shift by maintaining warmth and protecting the body's defensive Qi.
3. Autumn is a time for introspection and letting go, symbolized by the falling of leaves. It's a good time to address emotional issues and support the body's immune system as it prepares for winter.

Check at THSU Student Intern Clinic (https://thsu.edu/clinics/) to integrate these TCM principles and practices into your routine. You can maintain balance and support your overall health during the autumn season. Embrace the changes of the season with these mindful approaches to enhance your well-being.
