Three Rivers Youth’s 145th Anniversary Kentucky Derby Gala was nothing short of amazing. With over 300 guests in attendance in their best derby attire, they enjoyed mint juleps, a reception dinner and a dessert reception. Two scholarships were awarded to local students. Honorees included Sabrina Saunders Mosby and Brenda Tate and other past honorees who were inducted into the Hall of Fame. A proclamation from the Mayor of Pittsburgh- Ed Gainey and an appearance by Judge Dwayne Woodruff lent star power to the event. The night ended with exciting horse racing dancing.

Three Rivers Youth is proud to announce Sabrina Saunders Mosby as one of this year’s Nellie Leadership Award recipients. Sabrina is a leader in driving economic growth and competitiveness around the greater Pittsburgh area through her role as President & CEO of Vibrant Pittsburgh. Receiving the C-Suite Award in 2023 and recognized repeatedly by the Pittsburgh Business Times in their Power 100 list, Sabrina also landed the coveted honor of giving a TEDx talk. She is also a community leader serving on boards as diverse as Allegheny Health Network and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. Three Rivers Youth honors and celebrates her contributions to promoting economic opportunity in the region and uplifting communities at this years Nellie Leadership Awards Gala on May 9, 2025.

Three Rivers Youth is proud to announce Brenda Tate as one of this year’s Nellie Leadership Award recipients. Serving our community for more than 40 years as police officer and detective, Brenda helped to break down employment barriers by becoming one of the first African American women in Pittsburg law enforcement. Her 2024 book, Journal of a Black Women in Blue: Navigating Policing, Addiction, Abuse & Survival, is a compelling tale of resiliency and a deeply personal guide to overcoming addiction and domestic abuse. She is a living beacon of hope for individuals struggling with histories of abuse and addiction. Three Rivers Youth honors and celebrates her achievements, both professional and personal, at this year’s Nellie Leadership Awards Gala on May 9, 2025.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Mr. Barnett Harris as he joins the TRY Family. We are thrilled to have Barnett on board!

Currently serving as the Director of Community-Based Services in the FPP Department, Barnett brings a wealth of experience to our team. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Duquesne University and a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Geneva College.

With a background as a Director of Residential and Community Services, as well as Director of Psych Rehab Services, Barnett's expertise and dedication are invaluable assets to our organization. He is eager and prepared to hit the ground running, with sleeves rolled up and ready to make a positive impact.
