Teresa of Ávila — The Soul Is a Castle of Light
Lately, I’ve been feeling the mystics walking with me.
Not as metaphors.
As presences.
As elders in the unseen realm who continue to teach, guide, and illuminate
the path for those of us ready to live our souls on earth.
One of them is Teresa of Ávila.
Her words reached me like a memory:
“The soul is like a castle made entirely of diamond or of very
clear crystal… in which there are many rooms.”
I connect with Teresa not just because she was a mystic — but because
she embodied mysticism.
She prayed with her body.
She listened to God through every season of her soul.
And she taught that the real spiritual path leads you inward — not away.
Most people stop at the gate.
Or maybe the first room.
But you?
You are ready to go all the way in.
You’re not here for quick fixes.
You are here to walk through the inner corridors of your being —
to sit with silence
to meet the holy longing
to live as a sanctuary for Spirit.

The old ways are calling louder now.
Not because they ever left —
but because we finally got quiet enough to hear them again.

You might feel it:
That pull to stop chasing more.
To stop seeking wider and go deeper.
Into your body.
Into the earth.
Into the places in you that remember what’s real.

Over the past year, I’ve been deep in this work.
Not the glamorous kind.
Not the kind that makes for quick transformation posts.
But the real kind.
The slow, gritty kind.
Nervous system repair.
Brain retraining.
Somatic listening.
Learning to hear the truth underneath the panic.
The truth of my body.
The truth of my lineage.
It’s been hard.
Some days it still is.

Because I’ve lived most of my life listening to the noise in my head —
the inherited belief that if I just do more, I’ll finally be safe.
That stress is responsible.
That exhaustion is noble.
But those are old spells.
And I’m letting them break.

Instead of listening to the noise, I’m listening to my bones.
My breath.
My Spirit.
My ancestors.
They don’t move in frenzy.
They move in rhythm.
This is what I mean when I say: go deeper, not wider.

The healing is already here.
But it asks something different of us.
It asks for slowness.
For presence.
For trust in the fleshy knowing that doesn’t perform — it just knows.

The veil is thin.
Your body remembers.
The old ways are alive again.
You don’t need to find them.

𝗠𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗴
My grandmother died right before the world shut down for COVID.
She was strong, stubborn, and sweet. We used to argue about the afterlife — I’d tell her I could feel Spirit, and she’d shake her head and say, “You die, and you go into the ground.”

Even a week before her death, I sat beside her and told her I could see her mother and her brother around her. She thought she saw her brother Bob, then turned to me and smiled, half-teasing, and said, “Probably not.”
I laughed. Of course she’d question the afterlife — even on her way out of this world.
I kept telling her that Pa — her husband — was waiting. That he couldn’t wait to see her. That she was about to be more surrounded by love than ever before.
But it’s been a long time since I’ve felt her. I gave her space, trusted her journey. And just recently, she came to me in meditation.

She told me it’s taken her a long road to finally accept the beauty I tried to help her see while she was alive.
She’s finally truly Home.
And something in me softened. A piece of my lineage — and my own body — healed in that moment. Especially my legs.

They’ve been speaking to me lately. Holding the stories of women — like my grandmother — who carried so much responsibility. Who never got to rest. Who didn’t know softness or surrender in their lower body.

Now that she’s settled on the other side, I feel the willingness to let go.
To stop carrying what isn’t mine.
To let the weight fall off my legs.
To let my daughters, and their daughters, walk lighter.
Because we don’t have to break the lineage to become ourselves.

We are the lineage.
We are where the old and the new meet.
We are the dreams they couldn’t name.
We are the prayers they didn’t know how to pray.
We are the continuation — not in their trauma, but in their light.

This is our time now.
To live fully.
To be guided by Spirit.
To root into ancient wisdom while building lives that feel like home.

Not because they’re perfect —
but because they’re real.
And because they’re ours.

Healing doesn’t mean being calm all the time.
It doesn’t mean being perfect.
It doesn’t mean posting about your breakthroughs or knowing what phase you’re in.
Some of the deepest healing I’ve seen lately happens in the quietest places.
In the body.
In the moment a client breathes differently, and we both feel it.
There’s no applause.
Just a softening.
A space opening.
That’s what I mean when I say healing is embodied.
It’s not something you have to prove.
It’s something you remember.
In your cells.
In your soul.
