🎉 Congratulations to Marlaina Reaves, recipient of the 2024 Terry Arthur Physician Assistant Scholarship!

Marlaina, a Physical Therapy Assistant at Southwell since 2021, has been accepted into the Berry College Physician Associate Program and will begin her next chapter in August 2025.

This scholarship, made possible by local PAs, honors Terry Arthur—Tifton’s first Physician Assistant and a true mentor in the field.

Southwell Medical Clinic (formerly Affinity Clinic) welcomes Cynthia Phillips, DO. Dr. Phillips offers primary care for adults, preventive care, management of chronic diseases, routine check-ups, and more.

With more than 29 years of experience, Dr. Phillips earned her medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency training at West Virginia
University/Charleston Area. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Congratulations to Shelby Leighton, LPN for earning the Southwell Medical Clinic Excellence Award for July. Shelby works in the primary care division at Southwell Medical Clinic.

“Peers have noticed how Shelby consistently goes above and beyond in supporting patients and colleagues,” said Michelle Hilton, Practice Manager. “Shelby lifts team morale and contributes to a supportive work environment.”

Michelle said Shelby's approachable nature and strong interpersonal skills make it easy for the patients to feel comfortable.
