What a day at the Ohio State Fair! 🎡🎉

Mason took 1st place in his class showing Spencer—we’re so proud of him! 🥇
After that, the boys wasted no time hitting the rides and loading up on fair food.

We haven’t posted much this summer, but not because we’ve been slacking…
We’ve just been distracted by a few minor things like:

🚜 sorting calves
⚾️ baseball tournaments
🧼 rinsing steers
🎣 fishing rods in the yard
🏈 football practice
🥩 restocking beef
🛶 the occasional boat launch
🎤 and narrating every 4H story like it’s a Netflix docuseries

If you’ve tried to reach us and got nothing but silence… odds are we were elbow-deep in rinse water, chasing a kid with one shoe on, or asleep at a barstool with a Capri Sun in hand.

We’re still here. Still raising beef. Still raising boys. Still doing our best to keep it all somewhere between “balanced” and “barely holding on.”

Thanks for being here through the noise, the dust, and the joy. 🐄❤️⚡

🚨 Price Update – But Don’t Panic! 🚨

Yes, we had to raise our bulk beef prices a bit. No, it’s not because we’re buying beachfront property (unless you count the mud puddle behind the barn).

Truth is — the cost of producing hay is up, feed input costs to remain all-natural are rising, cattle prices are at an all-time high, and USDA processing costs have climbed right along with everything else… even our cows are starting to look at us like they want a cost-of-living adjustment. 🐮💸

We’ve always promised to raise beef the right way — pasture-raised & grain finished, USDA Choice or better, dry-aged, vacuum-sealed, and processed at a USDA-inspected facility. That hasn’t changed. But for us to keep doing what we love — and doing it the right way — we had to make a small adjustment.

Still no hidden fees. Still no shortcuts. Still the same Lazy Creek quality you’ve come to expect — just now with slightly more realistic math.

Thanks for supporting local farms that believe in doing it right (even if it’s not the cheapest way). We couldn’t do this without you.

Happy Father’s Day to the guy who still backs my hay-making adventures—even when I roll out something that looks like it belongs in a parade, not a pasture. 🎡🙃

Not sure if it’s love, loyalty, or just morbid curiosity at this point—but either way, I’m grateful.

Let’s be honest though—we should be celebrating our dads every day, not just when the calendar says so. Especially the ones willing to wrestle oversized bales, fix what we broke, and somehow still answer the phone when we call—and to all the other dads and men out there who show up, step in, and support their people without needing the spotlight. 👊🌾

Tastes like adulthood and poor decisions—just how I like it. Village Sips’ black coffee is strong enough to wake the dead and smooth enough to make you forget you were supposed to add cream. 10/10 would drink again while pretending I have my life together.
