It has been 4 months since the Tuscaloosa Half Marathon and I finally have my Week 12 Update on our Blog. Team Physiolete showed out this year - 7 of us ran the THM. Name a more athletic PT group, I dare you! If you do, we will challenge you to a game of 5 on 5 and you don’t want Allie or Claire going up against you on the hardwood - trust me.

If you followed my weekly updates you may remember I used the Galloway (Run Walk) Method to complete the 13.1 miles. I PR’d by over 7 minutes in the THM this year, completed my goal of going sub-2 hours, and walked throughout the race a bit.

Why am I still running?

It’s not always sunshine & rainbows—early wakeups, pushing through aches, resisting that snooze button. But here’s the real reason: running is cathartic. It gives me space to just be—to sort my thoughts, reflect on what’s pure and praiseworthy, and feel accomplished before the day’s chaos begins.

I didn’t always love running. In fact, I used to dread it—really! But over time, it’s become so much more: a mental reset, a spiritual recharge, and a gift of time for myself.

Click the link in our bio to read more. I also have included a template and weekly mileage if you are interested in using the Galloway (Run Walk) Method for a future half marathon.

And guess what? Thanks to some encouragement from , I’m gearing up for the Rocket City Marathon in December 2025—so there’s more training, more miles, and more stories to come. Stay tuned!

— A reminder that done is better than perfect.

8 months of hard work calls for a partner workout with your PT on your last day! Lexie and Claire wrapped up their time together by completing a Lexie inspired workout together. Lexie is headed to Huntington College this fall to play women’s soccer. We know she will do great! Best of luck to you,

“Working with Lexie has been such a joy and was a rewarding process for both of us. From day one, she was ready to do what it took to come back after surgery and compete at a collegiate level. Her determination pushed me as a therapist to think outside of the box and stay up to date using the latest equipment to track performance metrics and data. Thankful for patients that trust me with their rehab and buy in to the process! Go Lexie!” -Claire
