Our female athletes excel in our programs and training as well 🔥 Thinking about bringing your daughter into an environment that is competitive but also has their best interest when it comes to training properly? We have just the space for you! Young kids whose ages are 7 years old and older are more than welcome to join our program. In fact, it is encouraged to keep your little one moving and learning proper form so that they can better excel in future athletics🥇Here we have Kate Newchurch, a former soccer player at E.D. White, who is continuing her academic and athletic career at Nicholls State University. We also have Brightyn Ratcliff, a former volleyball player at E.D. White, who is attending Nicholls State University to continue her athletic and academic career! These girls bring the heat every time they come into training and we can’t wait to see the performances they’ll bring to the field and the court. For more information on signing your daughter up for training, contact our Strength and Conditioning Coach, Zach Case (985-255-1502), or contact either of our offices. 📞Morgan City: 985-384-1999📞Thibodaux: 985-304-4740
Nicholls State and E.D. White football players are STILL showing up and doing the work even in their off-season! The fire and the heat will definitely be on the field this coming season 🔥 They are a force to be reckoned with!
Working in their off-season establishes discipline and work ethic for these young men 💪 So, the question is, are you creating a better version of yourself by working when no one is watching?
To become part of one of our training groups or a personal training client, please contact our Strength and Conditioning Coach, Zach Case (985-255-1502).
We look forward to creating a better you!

BIOMECHANICAL ASSESSMENT: HIP MOBILITY
❗️Do you suspect your hips to be tight? Or do you feel that your hips could be stronger?❗️
One of our Biomechanical Assessment Measurements can help indicate possible hip tightness or weakness (lack of mobility or strength). Measuring hip mobility is crucial for our general and athletic populations because typically hip tightness is present, which can result in knee, hip, lower back, and even ankle pain.
We will first look at lumbar flexion. We will measure the patient's end range, and their end range should typically be at 120°, give or take 8°-10°. If the patient presents excessive movement in the hips, it will inform us that their program should be strength-based. If the patient presents a lack of mobility, it will indicate that their program should focus on increasing their mobility.
If you are experiencing hip pain, it could simply be from excessive movement of the hips or a lack of mobility in the hips. Our Biomechanical Assessment will demonstrate which one is present and will allow us to program accordingly, so we can get you back comfortably to your lifestyle 🏃

Trendelenburg Gait Test
Do you suspect that you have weakness in your hips or have hip pain?
While receiving our Biomechanical Assessment we will do a hip abductor/glute medius evaluation. Meaning, that we will have you perform the movement demonstrated in the video (Trendelenburg Gait Test) which will indicate if you have any weaknesses in those areas.
Depending on the outcome of the test, we will determine if we need to move into hip-strengthening-specific movements.
⭐️Symptoms of having weak hips:
-Low back pain
-Slouched posture
-Discomfort while performing functional activities (walking, going upstairs, sitting up and down, bending down)
-Knee Pain
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, give our offices a call to get a Biomechanical Assessment scheduled. Thibodaux (985-304-4740) or Morgan City (985-384-1999).

Do you tend to have stiff shoulders? Or do you notice your shoulders feel unstable during certain movements?
During our Biomechanical Assessment, we evaluate shoulder mobility of 7 planes of motion along with our spinal mobility. We also assess the strength of the shoulder and posterior scapula region.
If you have any imbalances in your shoulders, the evaluation will help determine if you have shoulder instability or if you lack shoulder mobility.
🔹Instability = too much movement; we need to strengthen
🔹Lack of Mobility = stiff; we need to stretch/increase motion
Our very own, Chet Sternfels, will go into detail on the measurements taken and what information each measurement indicates.

E.D. White’s Defensive/Offensive Lineman is putting in the work before summer conditioning! These kids will be bringing the fire this coming season. #strengthandconditioning #puttinginthework #lineman #offenseanddefense #specifictraining #highschoolfootball #performancetraining #wedothework
Are you having back pain? Or do you suffer from stiffness?
Our Biomechanical Assessment informs us of any imbalances within the body. Imbalances in the back are prevalent, and we have several points that we measure to help us indicate if there are any imbalances present. We measure posture alignment (lumbar lordosis and thoracic kyphosis), lumbar range of motion (flexion, extension, and R/L rotation), and thoracic range of motion (flexion, extension, and R/L rotation). Chet Sternfels (Owner/Physical Therapist) will go into detail on the measurements taken and what information each measurement displays.

A tool that our therapists love using in the clinic is our mTrigger Biofeedback System! This system uses surface EMG to determine the amount of muscle activation in the targeted muscle group. It’s a good way for our patients to visually see if they are contracting the specific muscle required for a specific exercise as opposed to overcompensation. Today we had one of our patients (post-op ACL surgery) use the mTrigger Biofeedback System to help them indicate if they are contracting their quad during an exercise. The patients also get a game to play with the system which is always fun and competitive!
⭐️PATIENT SPOTLIGHT⭐️
⭐️Patient Spotlight⭐️
Here we have Zach who is a patient in our Morgan City clinic. He is 5 months post-op UCL (ulnar collateral ligament) reconstruction.
We thrive to ensure that all of our athletes return to their sport with full function, strength, and power. Once an athlete completes the initial stages of recovery with general range of motion and strengthening, we can then progress to sport specific movements once they have met all criteria!
Zach has progressed to working on explosive power, which in the video he is preforming a 1/2 kneel barbell throw. It is an upper body plyometric exercise to improve power production throughout the upper extremity for throwing athletes.
Zach is looking and performing great and we look forward to his senior season ⚾️💪
