Violet Crown Therapy I help people explore authenticity, vulnerability, and connection in a compassionate & empathic way. I graduated from St.

For as long as I can remember, I have thrived on working with people and helping them with various life happenings–whatever they may be. Edward’s University with a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and am provisionally licensed as an LPC-Intern. During my undergraduate studies, I discovered my love for working with individuals (and their family members) on the autism spectrum and would like to continue working with individuals with ASD in the years to come. I also enjoy working with anyone who requires guidance and support through varying life transitions, changes, and challenges. As a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, I help promote healthy boundaries and autonomy to the clients I work with and teach valuable social and life skills. I understand and empathize with the fact that life happens and everyone experiences various challenges and uncertainties at one point in time or another. With this in mind, I acknowledge how important therapy is to help people navigate through those struggles to help with increased self-awareness, self-esteem, support, autonomy, and overall life satisfaction. My approach to therapy is authentic, genuine, and free of judgment so therapy with me will feel comfortable (even when things get emotional or awkward) because client’s will always be able to be undeniably themselves.

Today is International Trans Day of Visibility. 🏳️‍⚧️

Across the U.S., trans people are navigating increasing barriers to healthcare, legal recognition, and safety. These policies are not just political, they shape people’s daily lives, mental health, and sense of possibility. I see the impact of this in the therapy room regularly.

Trans people continue to exist, create, love, lead, and build meaningful lives and communities. There is joy here. There is resilience here. There is so much life here.

Days like today matter not because trans people need permission to exist, but because visibility, in the face of erasure, is powerful.

Trans people deserve access to affirming care.
They deserve safety and dignity.
They deserve to live full, expansive lives (just like anyone else).

As a cis therapist, I want to be transparent about my position while also staying committed to doing this work with care, humility, and accountability.

If you are trans: I see you, and I’m so glad you’re here.
If you love someone who is trans: your presence matters.
If you’re learning: keep going.

Happy Thursday!

Here is the link for my March newsletter :)

Ironically, over the past few weeks when I've been perusing (err...doomscrolling) instagram, I've also been seeing a lot of reminders floating around that say things like "you're not behind, you don't have to hurry" or "I'm intentionally moving slow to remind my nervous system I don't have to rush"....

Many people grew up in environments where they had to stay alert, paying attention to moods, tension, or what might go wrong next.

Your nervous system learned how to stay ready.
That can show up later as difficulty relaxing, feeling responsible for others’ emotions, or always bracing for something to change.

These patterns aren’t flaws.
They’re survival strategies your body learned when it needed them.

And with time, safety, and support, your nervous system can learn that it doesn’t have to stay on high alert anymore.

Remember: be good to you & give yourself permission to lean into relaxing (even if it takes time & feels hard to do at first). 💛

People who support and check on others also need support and to be checked on, too 💛✌🏻

This is the face of Violet Crown Therapy & some of the versions of me that show up in my work today. 💛

The curious kid, the sensitive kid, and the kid who was learning how to listen, how to care, and how to make sense of big feelings grew into the therapist I am today.

These parts of me help me sit with other people’s stories with empathy, curiosity, and a whole lot of love and I’m excited to make space for younger me here with y’all. ✌🏻

This weekend’s shooting has left many in our community feeling shaken, heavy, and overwhelmed.

When violence happens close to home, it can disrupt our sense of safety (even if we weren’t directly involved). You might notice anxiety, irritability, numbness, trouble sleeping, or a sense of unreality. These are human responses to something frightening.

If you’re needing support, I have immediate availability and am offering sliding scale sessions for those impacted.
You don’t have to hold this by yourself.
Reach out via DM or the link in my bio. 💛

Joy doesn’t mean we’re unaware.
It means we refuse to let despair have the final word. 💛

Many of us learned that needing something meant being too much.
So we got good at shrinking.

Ignoring your needs probably helped you survive at some point.
But survival strategies don’t always translate to secure connection.

You are allowed to need.
You are allowed to say so.
You are allowed to stay.

Here is my February newsletter, y'all!

No matter where we look, whether it's social media, the news, conversations with friends, or literally anywhere else, we’re met with a constant stream of distress: ICE, the Epstein files, anything Trump is touching, and just the general weight of being alive in this moment. Things feel weird. And...
