Violet Crown Therapy I help people explore authenticity, vulnerability, and connection in a compassionate & empathic way. I graduated from St.

For as long as I can remember, I have thrived on working with people and helping them with various life happenings–whatever they may be. Edward’s University with a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and am provisionally licensed as an LPC-Intern. During my undergraduate studies, I discovered my love for working with individuals (and their family members) on the autism spectrum and would like to continue working with individuals with ASD in the years to come. I also enjoy working with anyone who requires guidance and support through varying life transitions, changes, and challenges. As a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, I help promote healthy boundaries and autonomy to the clients I work with and teach valuable social and life skills. I understand and empathize with the fact that life happens and everyone experiences various challenges and uncertainties at one point in time or another. With this in mind, I acknowledge how important therapy is to help people navigate through those struggles to help with increased self-awareness, self-esteem, support, autonomy, and overall life satisfaction. My approach to therapy is authentic, genuine, and free of judgment so therapy with me will feel comfortable (even when things get emotional or awkward) because client’s will always be able to be undeniably themselves.

Happy Sunday!

Check out my latest newsletter to read about sonder, learn Teeny's tip for you this month, to see what I've been reading.

Sonder means that people have their own dreams, heartbreaks, daily routines, unresolved questions, and moments of joy. They’re thinking about the groceries they need to pick up, the text they wish they hadn’t sent, the person they miss, the vacation they’re planning, the job they’re thinkin...

Reminder: parenting is hard. And there is no such thing as a “perfect” parent—it’s messy & full of a lot of big feelings.

Remember that good parents make mistakes & hold boundaries & have a lot of love to give & sometimes yell, too. 💛

I’ve had anxiety about needles for years: the kind that made medical appointments feel overwhelming and left my body buzzing long after they were over.

Today, I donated blood for the very first time.

Not because I “got over” my anxiety.
Not because I pushed myself past my limits.
But because, over time, I listened to my body. I built trust with it. I let my fear soften. And when I finally felt ready, I did it — safely, on my own terms.

This is a big win. 💛

Healing doesn’t always look like fear disappearing.
Sometimes, it looks like walking with your fear and doing the thing anyway — gently, bravely, and in your own time.

I’ve built some of the most serious, life-shaping relationships outside of romance.
I bet you have, too. 💛

Not every relationship needs romance to matter deeply.
Your friendships, creative partnerships, chosen family, co-regulators, soulmates-in-plants-and-playlists—those are real, serious, and worthy of your time and care.

Let’s stop treating romantic love like it’s the only kind that gets to count. Just a little reminder that what you feel is real. 💛

Don’t underestimate kindness. 💛

We’re conditioned to measure healing by what we do: the goals, the routines, the breakthroughs.

But some of the most powerful healing doesn’t look like much at all.
Sometimes it’s quiet.
Sometimes it’s messy.
Sometimes it’s… watching the same show for the third time while lying under a blanket.

Here is a friendly reminder that healing is happening…especially in the small moments & especially when nobody is clapping. 💛

Some snapshots from July—I very much took a needed (and equally intentional & unplanned) break from sharing on this account. 💛

It both feels good to slow down some & also to get back into the groove of being back.

What are some snapshots you’d share about your July (so far)?

I had the opportunity to talk to City Cast Austin about how to manage grief (among other things) with the flooding in Texas. With floods happening in multiple states across the US--I wanted to share this with anyone who might be interested.

Here's what Austin's talking about today.

My newsletter for July reflects on ways to manage big feelings & take care of yourself in the face of collective trauma, tragedy, and grief.

Read it & share with anyone who may need it & remember to be gentle with yourself. 💛

Note: while I'm not a religious person, the statue of the Weeping Angel in New Orleans is one that stopped me when I first heard of it and is one that feels most appropriate to capture for the tragedy that is unfolding. Having said that--it felt like the best to share here. Cue: It's Quiet Upt...
