✨ Back-to-School Isn’t Just About Supplies ✨

You’ve bought the notebooks, packed the lunch, and given the pep talks. But for many teens, this time of year also brings big emotions—social pressures, academic stress, and the quiet worries they may not say out loud.

If your teen (14+) is feeling anxious, withdrawn, unmotivated, or just “off,” they don’t have to go through it alone—and neither do you.

I offer virtual counseling to individuals (14+) who are located in Texas, giving them a safe, supportive space to talk openly, build confidence, and learn practical coping skills.

Because a healthy mind is the most important school supply they can have. 💛

I'm proud to share that I’ve completed my training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy—a powerful, evidence-based approach to healing trauma.

As a counselor dedicated to supporting first responders, veterans, and individuals navigating trauma and grief, this training deepens the tools I can offer to help clients process painful experiences and move toward healing.

Today, we honor all mothers—and we also hold space for those for whom this day is tender.

We honor the strength, love, and resilience of mothers everywhere. To the moms, stepmoms, grandmothers, mother figures, and anyone navigating the journey to motherhood: your love shapes lives in countless ways.

To those who are grieving, navigating infertility, have experienced loss, or carry silent heartaches: we see you. Today may bring a mix of joy and pain, and both are valid.

At WHO K.NEW, we recognize that motherhood—and the longing for it—can be beautiful, messy, complicated, and deeply emotional. Wherever you find yourself today, we’re here to support your mental and emotional well-being.

Some experiences in your life are beyond your control, and others are to blame. However, you are responsible for taking the steps necessary to heal from the hurt others have caused you. If you choose not to heal, then you are responsible for your actions moving forward. How you react to someone else's words or actions is up to you. You could react out of anger and hurt or choose not to engage and let it go.

Happy New Year! 🎉 Here are some examples of things to do to reset for the new year.

Digital Cleanse:
~ Unfollow social media accounts that don't inspire you, that are negative, or don't make you feel good.
~ Delete apps you don't use anymore
~ Delete chats with people you don't speak to anymore
~ Unsubscribe from subscriptions you don't need or use anymore

Space Cleanse:
~ Re-organize your living space
~ Declutter wardrobe and give away items to you don't wear anymore
~ Deep clean the entire house/apartment
~ Check "use by" dates on makeup, food, and/or cleaning products and clear out

Mental Cleanse:
~ Reflect on the previous year
~ Create a realistic vision/prayer board for the new year
~ Start a new gratitude journal
~ Restock on wellness supplies

Remember: Healing does not happen overnight. Breathe. Create smart goals, take small steps, and have a positive mindset to keep moving forward.
