THIS! If you really want to be a partner in trying to prevent su***de, commit to not participating in public shaming especially online. Commit to more understanding and less judgement. Kindness goes a long way when one is struggling. There is a lot of pain in this world and it’s through connection pain can begin to heal, even a little.

This is something to really think about. Kids often do as well as their parents are doing, especially the mother. That’s a lot to carry for a mother. An important role in fathers is to support the mother in that role- not add to the stress. That doesn’t mean fathers don’t have a voice and rights, but it’s handling it so the kids aren’t put in the middle. Understanding this can help keep kids grow mentally healthy.

If you love your children, don’t break their mother.

she is their home.
their safe place.
the one who calms their storms and quiets their fears.

she carries the weight of their needs, their tears, and their dreams, even when no one carries hers.

so love her.
speak gently to her.
support her.

don’t break her spirit.
don’t drain her energy.
don’t treat her like she’s invisible.
because your children’s peace begins with hers.

when she’s cared for, they flourish.
when she’s hurting, they feel it too.
if she’s broken, they’re left trying to make sense of the cracks.

loving your kids means loving the woman who gave them life.

protect her peace.
protect their childhood.

Sexting is the sending or distributing of n**e or partially n**e images. Scary headlines may lead you to believe this is a common practice among teens with extreme consequences. Although the actual numbers vary, many researchers agree that most teens are not sexting, and those who are usually aren’t subjected to harsh penalties. However, there are still risks to consider for teens who sext.

These tips will help you talk about sexting with your teen so you’re both prepared if it ever becomes an issue.
