The only thing better than a trip to the Museum of Science, Boston? Getting the VIP treatment! Our Supportive Housing team coordinated this trip for residents of four of our partner sites with Malden Housing Authority. Mystic Valley Elder Services asked and the museum did more than say yes, they provided a wonderful adventure! Our group was treated to a tour of the museum exhibits, an incredible OMNI Theater show, and an animal presentation with Frances the Leopard Tortoise, and even lunch and transportation. To Michael Adams and the rest of the Museum of Science, we are so grateful for this special day, and to Magan Transport, we appreciate you and your wonderful drivers. We’d also like to recognize the MVES Supportive Housing team who worked so hard to make this day possible.

Our conference room got a temporary makeover this week. We are calling it Mystic Valley Café because we had a surprise pancake station for our team! Our leadership and HR team arranged for this tasty surprise. They offered every flavor you could think of and they even flipped the pancakes like pros. For those who don’t like pancakes, there were lots of other treats on offer, and coffee of course. It was a sweet way to celebrate our team and give them a smile!

Thank you to Medford, MA, USA for selecting Mystic Valley Elder Services for one of this year’s Community Fund grants! We’re grateful and honored to be chosen. Thank you to the members of the Community Fund for supporting MVES’ efforts to empower older adults and people with disabilities.

43 organizations received financial assistance through a Community Fund Committee program.

November is National Family Caregivers Month. 🎉

🧡 Our Caregiver Support Team always makes plans to honor the 60 million in the U.S. and especially to thank those in the 11 communities we serve. This year, our team visited senior centers around the Mystic Valley area. Caregivers and their loved ones were invited to join in a DIY aromatherapy activity, sample some tasty snacks and enjoy giveaways like the caregiver magnet you see in these photos. The goal was to recognize the importance of and give our local caregivers a chance to take a much-deserved moment for themselves.

So thankful to Bread of Life, the City of Malden (Official), Christenson for Mayor, Malden First Church Of The Nazarene and the many volunteers who pulled off another . They work with Mystic Valley Elder Services every year to ensure the people we serve enjoy a great meal and a feeling of belonging, even home delivery for those unable to get out and about.
