Rosemary Anne Reed, longtime resident of Hominy, OK passed from this life on Thursday March 27, 2025, at her residence in Hominy. She was 72 years of age. Rosemary was born on October 10, 1952, in Towanda, Pennsylvania to Dominic Charles and Pauline (Adamovich) Kelly. She was raised and received her education there. She later moved to New York where she met Robert Fata. They were united in marriage and had two daughters, Vanessa and Gina. Rosemary and the girls later moved to Henderson, Nevada, where she met and married Donald Cookson.

Rosemary and Donald moved to Hominy, OK, in 1981. It was there that she met Ronald Leroy Reed, with whom she found love and companionship. They married on October 9, 1990, in Miami, OK, and together welcomed their son, Ryan. Rosemary and Ronnie built a life in Hominy, where they enjoyed road trips, spending time with family, and cherished days at their lake lot on Hominy Lake. Rosemary was the property manager for Parkview Manor apartments for many years, and in her free time, she found joy in bowling, arts and crafts, and treasure hunting at thrift stores. She never met a stranger and loved connecting with those around her. Ronnie preceded her in death on August 13, 2024, but the life they built together will always be a beloved chapter in her story.

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include her children - Vanessa (Steve) Kraut of Phoenix, Az, Gina Fata also of Phoenix; her son Ryan (Kelbie) Reed of Cleveland, OK and her grandchildren: Brenden, Brice, Sabrina, Tyler, Zachary, Ellie, Jace, Janessa, Jake, Raygan, and three great grandchildren. Besides her husband Ronnie, Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jerry Kelly.

Kristen Leigh Pratt passed from this life on March 9, 2025, at the age of 39 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kristen was a proud citizen of the Osage Nation and belonged to the Golden Eagle Clan. Her Osage name is E-Ne-Ah-Pe and was named by Harry Red Eagle, Jr.

Kristen was born to Patricia (Barnes) Pratt and Dr. Michael E. Pratt, Sr., on January 18, 1986, in Tulsa, Oklahoma along with her twin sister Katherine Jean. She attended Hominy Public Schools until she graduated High School in 2004. She also attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. She worked as an Executive Assistant under the Chief Gray administration. Kristen then moved to Washington, DC to work for the National Congress of American Indians and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Kristen returned to live in Sand Springs, OK, where she made her home.

Kristen was a devout Catholic and belonged to the Lottie Shunkamolah Pratt Chapter of the Native American Church. Kristen had many friends throughout the country and loved to travel. She always shared her big, beautiful smile and a kind word with everyone she encountered.

Kristen is three-quarters Osage. She carried herself with great pride in being Osage and loved her people. She also enjoyed dancing during I^lonschka and at powwows across the country.

Kristen was a hard worker and took pleasure in sharing her knowledge of grants and tribal programs throughout Indian Country. She loved high heels and lipstick. She has been dressing up since she was a little girl and loved to walk around the house with her ‘clop clops’ on.

Kristen made many relationships from young to old. She was adored by many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors are her mother, Patricia (Barnes) Pratt of Hominy, OK. Siblings, Michael E. Pratt, Jr., Nikki Jo Pratt, Courtney Pratt and Angela Pratt. Also 16 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives.

Kristen was preceded in death by her twin sister Katherine Jean Pratt, her father Dr Michael E. Pratt, Sr, maternal grandparents Jerome Barnes and Angie (Malone) Barnes, paternal grandparents Charles Pratt, Sr. and Lottie (Shunkamolah) Pratt and niece Jerri Jean (JJ) Buffalomeat.

Services will be held at the Friends Church in Hominy, OK. at 8 am. Followed by Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment at A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery. Traditional meal to follow at the Hominy Indian Village Community Building. Her uncle Dr. Steven Pratt and Father Louis Abirieze are officiating.

David Supernaw

David Louis Supernaw, age 81 of Sulphur, OK, passed from this life on Wednesday evening, March 5, 2025. David was born January 10, 1944, at Hominy, OK to Charles A. and Rachel R. (Pitts) Abrams. He was raised and received his education in Hominy and Pawhuska where he was involved with the track and field teams. In 1967, David enlisted in the US Army where he served two tours in Vietnam. Upon his discharge in December 1969, he returned to Osage County. David made his home in Pawhuska, Tulsa and Norman before moving to Sulphur, OK where he has resided for the past 26 years. On June 20, 2000, David was united in marriage to Glenda (Stillwell) Lowrance at Sulphur, whom he had met at Sulphur Veterans Center.

One thing that made the relationship special was that every day, David told Glenda "How much he loved her and that she was the best thing that ever happened to him". During his Prayers to God, he told him this over and over. Memories that the family have are Lots of vacations all over, the western United States and Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Louisiana. Trips all over Texas and the Galveston and Padre Island were memorable. Being a member of both the Quapaw and Osage Tribes of Oklahoma, one of his favorite pastimes was telling stories of his childhood and his time in the Army, including his tours of Vietnam. His pet kittens, Rosie, Sonny and Missy were a joy to him. David was a friendly person, who loved to laugh and was always grateful to his family that he inherited when he married Glenda.

Those who survive and hold cherished memories are his wife: Glenda; David's inherited children - Landon Lowrance, Charlotte Bronstad and Caroline Hunter; his siblings - Charlie Supernaw, Kenney Perry, Billie Abrams, Evelyn Meely and Rosemary Olivia. Also surviving are his grandchildren - Christy, Casey, Chanse, Cortney, Ryan, Emma and Rebecca; and great grandchildren - Hayley, Lila, Daxton, Mavrick and Remmy; and three sisters - Evelyn, Rosemary and Biggie.

Traditional Indian services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the Hominy Indian Village Chapel with Billy Proctor and David Nagle officiating. Burial will follow at the A J Powell Memorial Cemetery. The traditional Indian feast will conclude the events at the Osage Community Building in the village.

Ralph Edward Beattie, of rural Blackburn, passed from this life on February 17, 2025 at the age of 75 years. Ralph was born July 3, 1949 in Pawhuska, OK to Neal E. and Betty Joe (Higgins) Beattie. He was raised and received his education in Enid and Ponca City. Ralph served in the US Marine Corp, being honorably discharged as a Corporal. He was united in marriage to Judith Ann Green in Fort Worth, TX in 1983 while he was living there. In 2009, they moved to Hominy and in 2010 moved to their rural home near Blackburn. Judith passed away on February 16, 2022. Ralph had an interest in model trains and horses.

Ralph is survived by a brother Bobby of Dalhart, TX and a sister Karen Volkman and her husband Rolland of Hominy. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, sisters - Mary Beattie and Wanda Chambers, brother Randy Beattie and his grandparents - Bill & Leona Beattie and Eugene and Eula (Martin) Higgins.

Steven Louis Carter was born on December 31, 1954, in Hobbs, New Mexico to Louis Elvin and Ruth Juanita (Clapper) Carter. At five years old his family relocated to the Hominy area. Steven grew up going to Hominy Schools and was also involved in Rodeo. He loved team roping and calf roping. He graduated from high school in 1973. Steven completed his education by attending OSU Tech Okmulgee, he received an associate’s degree in leather work, making shoes, boots and saddles.

Steven had his own saddle shop on Main Street for a few years before entering law enforcement. He worked for the Wynona Police Department then for the Osage County Sheriff’s office. Steven then went to work at Whirlpool where he retired in 2016.

Steven met Kimberly Carroll after his brother told him about her. They spent the last 39 years together; they got married October 24, 2008, in Miami, Oklahoma. Steve and Kim went on cattle drives in Western Oklahoma for 10 to 15 years. They loved camping and trail riding. Steve never lost his love for rodeos. He was also a lifetime member of AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association). He loved working with leather and being with his horses.

Steve lived to take care of his animals, family and his little old ladies. He was not a big social person but had quite the ornery streak. He loved watching old westerns.

Steven passed from this life on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at his home. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Steven Carter is survived by his wife Kimberly Carter; his daughter Karen Worley and husband Robin; his grandchildren Kayla Martin and husband Mitchell and Michael Cronister; great grandchildren Odin Martin; four God daughters Rainey Dobbs, Chelsea Gilley, Rebecca Box and Corey Box; two sisters Janie Varnell and Mary Lou Carter; one brother Keith Carter and wife Carla; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Juanita Carter; brother William Carter; brother-in-law Roy Varnell.

Funeral service for Steven Carter will be Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Dusty Giles officiating. Final resting place will be done later at A J Powell Memorial Cemetery.

Burney George Walker, age 76, of Hominy, passed from this life on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at his home. Burney was born on April 29, 1948, at Hominy Theodore Rusty and Geneva Juanita (Lopez) Walker, SR. He was raised and received his education in Hominy, graduating from the school system here. While in high school, Burney was a member of the Hominy Bucks football team.

Burney liked to fish, hunt and being around friends. He appreciated the individuals working at "Meals on Wheels", especially Pauline Hudson. Burney also enjoyed watching sports on television.

Those that survive and hold cherished memories include his brothers - Carl Walker, Theodore Walker, Jr and his wife Carol, Isaac Walker, Bobby and Christopher Walker. He was preceded by his parents, two sisters Shirley Hudson, Lois Walker and four brothers Jerry, Ronnie, Jackie and Randy Walker.

Cremation arrangements were under the care of the Powell Funeral Home of Hominy.

Lavonda Renee Mullins, 67, of Porter, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday February 6th.

Renee was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother and her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched. She is survived by her children: Kyle Goodman and wife April, Preston Mullins and wife Jessica, and Adrina Mullins. Beloved Sister to Eddie Goodman and wife Netta, Timmy Goodman and wife Linda, Deidre Dean and husband Billy. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Melanie Phillips, Kayden and Piper Mullins, Paige and Lily Goodman, and an abundant extended family. She was preceded in death by her brother Morris Goodman, parents Edward and Lorena Goodman, niece Charity Goodman and nephew Brandon Dean.

A devoted and caring mother, Renee gave love and support to her children and many others throughout her life, often acting as a mother figure to more people than she could count. Her home was always open, her heart always welcoming, and her spirit always encouraging. Renee was a tireless advocate for those she loved, and she poured herself into making sure everyone knew they were valued.

Her family and friends remember her as a selfless, kind-hearted woman with an unwavering belief in the potential of others. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring of 2025 at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee Oklahoma. The family will announce the date and time in March

Heidi Cupp

Adelheid Oryana Cupp, known to most as Heidi, passed away peacefully at her home in Hominy, Oklahoma, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on August 6, 1949, in Cham, Germany, she was the beloved daughter of Hans Ervin Schmidt and Klara Heilig. Heidi was raised and educated in Germany.

While James Franklin Cupp was serving in the military, he met and eventually married Heidi on October 4, 1968, in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The couple made their home in Hominy, Oklahoma, where they lived for 47 wonderful years. Together, they were blessed with two children. James passed away on March 1, 2010, after 42 years of marriage.

Heidi was employed as a housekeeper and a florist with Jean's Flower Shop, but primarily a homemaker in her later years. Her church family was always an important part of her life. She enjoyed trips to Branson with her church family, camping trips with her family in earlier days, and preparing holiday meals. Heidi loved gardening and all types of music, especially old gospel and anything by Carrie Underwood. However, her family was always her top priority, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog Samantha.

Heidi is survived by her children, Michael and Danyal Cupp, and her sister-in-law, Gladys Cunningham; her brothers, George Heilig, Mario Heilig, Renaldo Heilig, Taylor (Mickey) Heilig, Jacob Heilig, and Jackson Heilig; her sister, Mausy Heilig; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jaden Cupp, Brandon Weaver, Gabby McVey, Mercedes Stedman, and Corey McVey; and her great-grandchildren, Boe Weaver, Luke Weaver, Harrison Campos, Nathan Stedman, and Jude Stedman. Besides her husband, Heidi was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Hansi Heilig and her brother-in-law, Clarence (Jocko) Clapper.

Heidi will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Hominy Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Carl Brown officiating. Heidi’s request was to have cremation and be interred next to her husband James.

Stephanie Ellen Fields-Estes passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 71, in Hominy, Oklahoma. Stephanie was a proud member of the Osage Nation and belonged to the Sky Clan. Her Osage name is Lon-Su-Weh being named by her grandmother Helen Pratt Matin.

Stephanie was born on July 16, 1953, in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Alvin and Lenora Rosa (Matin) Fields. Stephanie attended school at Middle Enterprise West of Hominy from first grade through sixth grade. Then, starting high school in Hominy, where she completed her education. Stephanie attended Northern Oklahoma College at Tonkawa, where she graduated as a registered nurse. Stephanie initially started working as a registered nurse at the Laureate Clinic in Tulsa. Stephanie was united in marriage to Jack Dempsey Dobbins, Jr. on October 11, 1991, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the couple established their home in Hominy. She also worked as a home health nurse, at Doctors Hospital, Cleveland Manor Nursing Home, and OSU Medical Center. On September 23, 2022, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, Stephanie was united in marriage to Terry Dean Estes, and the couple made their home in Cleveland.

Stephanie was an accomplished seamstress - traditional Osage shirts were her specialty. She was a collector of miniatures, Tupperware and Case Knives. She enjoyed horse racing - recently attending the Indian Horse Racing Championship. She also enjoyed playing pool and participated in area leagues. Most of all, she loved time spent with her family.

Survivors are her husband, Terry Estes of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two children, Maurice Jerome Barnes, III, Micheal Ross Fields, grandchildren Geoffrey Fields, George Fields, Della Noel Garcia, Logan May, great-grandson Andrew Ross Thomas, Jr.; sisters Janis Carpenter, Marsha Holding, brother John Walter Fields and a host of other relatives and friends. Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lenora Fields; maternal grandparents, Walter and Helen Pratt Matin; husband, Jack Dobbins; brother, Patrick Fields; grandson, Andrew Ross Thomas; and a nephew, James Walter Fields.

Services will be held at 9:30 am, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Holding Residence at 522 South Pettit in Hominy with Everett Waller speaking. Burial will follow in the A J Powell Memorial Cemetery at Hominy, Oklahoma. The traditional feast will be in the Hominy Indian Village Community Center. Steven Paul Ducker, beloved father, Papa, brother, and co-worker, passed away with his kids by his side on February 7th, 2025, at the age of 61. Steve was born February 11, 1963, in Rapid City, South Dakota to Robert and Norma Jean Ducker. He graduated from Hominy High School in 1982. In December 1983, Steve welcomed his son, Christopher Paul. In winter 1987, Steve met the love of his life, Lisa Marie Weber, and they were united in marriage April 1, 1988. Through their union, Steve gained another redhead to care for and went on to adopt Kati as his own in 1991.

Steve’s vocation consisted of welding for Valmont Industries in his early adulthood. He later went to work for his in-laws' company, Sooner Oilfield and Plumbing Supplies where he helped run the store and delivered supplies to customers throughout Northeastern Oklahoma. Steve spent his last 25 years at Webco Industries in Mannford, OK. March 23, 1999, Steve started on the finish floor at Webco. He quickly moved to the coil edit department as an operator. In March 2013, Steve was promoted to SBM, Shift Business Manager, in the shipping department and has been there the past 12 years.

Steve spent most of his years taking care of Lisa and base balling with the kids. He coached Chris in baseball and Kati in coach pitch, and spent many evenings playing catch with the kids, including his bonus son and neighbor, Seth Kason. Steve spent many hours volunteering in the community, whether it be dragging the youth and high school fields to prep for games, umping and running concession and scoreboard for baseball, running scoreboard for youth and junior high basketball games, he loved to help where he was needed. In his spare time, he loved to golf and fish with any and everyone. He spent many of his days off golfing with his co-workers, and fishing with his neighbors and family.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife Lisa of 35 years, father and mother, Robert and Norma Ducker, in-laws, Jim and Joyce Welsh, brother, Bob Ducker, and brother-in-law, Randy Weber.

Steve is survived by his son, Chris Ducker of Broken Arrow, OK, daughter Kati Crawford and husband Drew of Fort Gibson, OK, five grandchildren that were his pride and joy: Everett and Graham Ducker, Kyric, Dre, and Zoey Crawford, sister Sara Ducker and husband Tony Sykes of Hominy, OK, brother Charlie Ducker of Hominy, OK, sister in law, Stephanie Ducker and husband Dean Mattingly of St. Pete, FL, sister in law, Pamela Sandness and husband Marc of Prague, OK, sister in law, Judy Weber of Olathe, KS, brother and sister in law, Eddie and Lora Weber of Cherokee, KS; brother in law Michael Kidder of Skiatook, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins across Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Ohio, cherished neighbors for over 30 years, Kent, Sara, Skyler and Seth Hensley, and two bonus daughters, Tamara Dixon and Gina Long.

Memorial services for Steve will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday February 22, 2025, in the Hominy Indian Village Community Building with Chuck Crawford serving as officiant. In lieu of plants and flowers, we ask that you consider donating locally to the Hominy Youth Dugout Club.
