Unbelievable Patient Case [Read-time 3 mins]
Female patient 25 y/o. She has had a progression of these issues over the past 6 years. She is unable to sleep through the night. She will wake up every 30 mins- 1 hour every single night. She doesn't remember the last time she slept through the night. Her digestion is a nightmare. She will have a bowel movement every 3-4 days (despite taking miralax every day). After eating (even a light lunch/meal) she will get intense bloating that is very uncomfortable. She will experience acid reflux 3x a week. She eats sh*tty food which contributes to it, however she isn't willing to change her diet.
Throughout her day she will be nauseous 80% of the time. From the time she wakes up to the time she sleeps...almost constantly sick to stomach feeling. Her appetite is suppressed because of this because she obviously doesn't want to eat a lot. Oh.....and I forgot to mention that when she DOES eat, she will almost always throw up part of her meal because of the way her stomach feels. She will experience anxiety attacks 2-3x a week. She will experience dizzy spells that occur 4-5 times a day where she feels like she is going to faint (but she doesn't).
She has constant ringing in her ears but has it more predominantly on the right side. Her jaw clicks and will occasionally bother her. She gets daily headaches that last around 1 hour. Her lower spine will constantly bother her and she will get uncontrollable leg shaking in both legs. After the leg shaking episodes (that happen daily) she will experience fasciculations in both the thighs for around 2-3 hours. Her legs will sometimes give out on her when she is walking when these episodes happen.
I have been taking care of her for around a month. We just had a progress examination where we re-test our objective tests, as well as have a conversation about what has changed and what hasn't.
She is sleeping through the night 3-4 days out of the week. The days that she DOESN'T sleep through the night she is waking up 1x and is immediately falling back asleep. She feels so much more rested and energized since we have got her actually sleeping. Her bowel movement patterns have changed to having a bowel movement almost every day. She will still sometimes skip 1 day, however we are not skipping 4 days at a time. She hasn’t been nauseous at all. She hasn't had a single dizzy/fainting feeling as well as no headaches/jaw issues. She experienced ringing in the ear for the first few days after care and since the 4ish day mark hasn't experienced it at all anymore. She is eating more often because her stomach is better and she hasn't thrown up at all in an entire month (which was daily). She says that she hasn't been experiencing the anxiety issues because she isn't worried about her body and it's starting to work correctly. Her lower spine area has some slight pain but is nothing close to the level that it was...and she hasn't had ANY shaking in her legs what-so-ever. Her knees haven't had a single time where they felt like they were ready to give out.
There is still more to be done, however when you remove the nerve irritation, the body will start to perform the way it was intended to. She can now start to live her life the way that SHE wants to. She’s excited, we are excited and can’t wait to get her life fully back!
