Sometimes I forget how far I have come.

When I look back and think at the childhood version of myself, or the insecure, pothead teenage version, the self-critical young adult, the woman in an unhealthy relationship, the super stressed out new mother, the people pleaser, the person who allowed herself to have unbalanced friendships....the list goes on.

When I look at the woman I am today, I am so freaking proud- and so are all those past versions of myself.

So much gratitude to all that have helped me to be the woman I am today. So much gratitude to myself. 🙏🥹♥️🫶🏼

🤫Sometimes it could be harder to notice mental health issues. Here are three signs that may go unnoticed.

😫Physical Aches: Sometimes, when people are going through mental struggles, they may complain of things like headaches or stomachaches even if there’s no clear medical reason.
😵‍💫 Trouble Getting Things Done: If someone is having a hard time focusing, meeting deadlines, or finishing tasks, it could be because of mental health issues like stress or anxiety.
😒 Eating Changes: Big shifts in how someone eats, like losing or gaining a lot of weight suddenly, might be a sign of emotional distress.

🌀The more I stop trying to fit into a world that's making me (and everyone else) physically and mentally sick, the calmer and more centered that I become.

🌀Something's got to give- and it's definitely not going to be my nervous system.🫶🏼

The nervous system requires several vitamins to function optimally. Here are five important vitamins for the nervous system:

1. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine): Thiamine is essential for energy production in nerve cells and helps maintain nerve cell health.

2. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): Vitamin B6 is involved in the production of neurotransmitters, which are critical for nerve cell communication.

3. Vitamin B9 (Folate): Folate supports the production and repair of DNA, which is crucial for the growth and maintenance of nerve cells.

4. Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin): Vitamin B12 is important for the formation of the protective myelin sheath around nerve cells.

5. Vitamin D: While not a B vitamin, vitamin D plays a role in nerve cell function and may help protect against nerve-related disorders.

A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can help ensure you get an adequate supply of these vitamins for a healthy nervous system. Always consult with a healthcare professional before adding supplements to your diet.

Healing trauma in your body typically requires a multi-faceted approach that may include therapy, self-care, and mindfulness techniques.

Here are some steps you can consider:

- **Trauma-Informed Therapy**: Seek therapy with professionals trained in trauma-focused modalities.

- **Mindfulness and Grounding Techniques**: Practice mindfulness meditation and grounding exercises.

- **Deep Breathing**: Engage in deep breathing exercises to activate the parasympathetic nervous system.

- **Yoga and Tai Chi**: Participate in these practices to regulate the nervous system and release trauma.

- **Biofeedback**: Use sensors to gain real-time feedback on physiological functions.

- **Bodywork Therapies**: Consider techniques like craniosacral therapy or somatic experiencing.

- **Medication**: In some cases, consult with a psychiatrist for medication to manage symptoms.

- **Diet and Nutrition**: Maintain a balanced diet to support nervous system health.

- **Exercise**: Regular physical activity, especially aerobic exercise, benefits the nervous system.

- **Sleep Hygiene**: Prioritize good sleep habits for nervous system recovery.

- **Social Support**: Connect with friends, family, or support groups.

- **Self-Compassion**: Practice self-compassion and self-care for emotional and physical well-being.

Remember to work with a qualified trauma therapist or healthcare professional for personalized guidance in your healing journey.

Yes!!

It's the WORLD that needs a change- not our kids. Our youth is in crisis and it's not their fault. The single most important thing we can give to our children is our full acceptance- exactly as they are.

Don't change your kids to fit into a world full of injustices. Instead, put your efforts into changing the world for them.
