đŸ„ŹThink iceberg lettuce has no nutrients? Think again! While romaine and spinach are more nutrient-dense, iceberg still provides hydration, fiber, and small amounts of vitamins A & K.

Need something to bring to a holiday gathering?

These little grinch grapes are a fun alternative to all the typical holiday treats.

Grapes, strawberries, marshmallows. That’s it. Some people put banana as the bottom part of the hat but I was afraid it would turn brown so I cut a larger marshmallow to size and used that.

The kids had fun making these too!

Happy holidays to all and to all a good night.

The cleanse and detox industry is booming, expected to grow from a $66.23 billion market in 2024 to over $88 billion. But are cleanses really as beneficial as they claim? In this episode, we unpack the science behind detoxification and why your body doesn’t actually need a cleanse to thrive.

In this episode we talk about:

⭐Why Cleanses Feel Effective: The scale may drop, but is it the weight loss you’re looking for?

⭐The Truth About Detox: Your liver, kidneys, lungs, and sweat glands naturally detoxify your body every day. They don’t need extreme interventions—just the right nutrients and a clean diet to function optimally. So what are these nutrients?

⭐The Problem with Cleanses: Most target only Phase 1 of liver detoxification, creating harmful intermediates if Phase 2 isn’t supported. Without proper nutrients, this imbalance can lead to chronic fatigue, inflammation, and other issues.

⭐How to Truly Support Detoxification:

- Limit exposure to toxins like artificial colors, preservatives, and sweeteners.

-Provide your body with nutrient-dense foods rich in antioxidants, amino acids, and vitamins.

- Trust your body’s innate ability to heal and detoxify when given the right tools.

- Learn how your liver’s detox phases work, why many products fall short, and how to make educated choices that support your health—without falling for expensive, unnecessary cleanses.

Onward we go!

We have just completed week 4 of my Nutrition Explorers class and these kids have already learned so much!

This week’s topic was all about protein! For these kids (ages 1st-6th grade) protein is an important part of their menu right now. We talked about:

- Plant-based vs animal sources
- How much protein each of them need daily
- What food sources provide what amount of protein
- How to tell if you need more protein (like during a growth spurt).

This class is hands on and interactive which helps make learning even more fun!

Starting kids with the proper foundation of nutrition education is crucial for them to grow into healthy and balanced adults. I already have to do a lot of myth busting at this age because of what they hear from their parents, family, and social media. 😔

Do you want your child to learn foundational nutrition designed to grow WITH them so they have a healthy relationship with food and can navigate healthy/balanced eating into adulthood?

Send me a DM or comment below saying “Yes!” and I’ll add you to the waitlist for my upcoming nutrition program for kids!

In this episode, I dive into my story of a third-grade girl who thought carbs were “bad,” revealing a broader issue: the unintended messages parents send about food. I explore how conversations and actions at home can plant seeds of confusion around nutrition, sometimes leading kids to develop food fears or misunderstand basic health principles.

You’ll learn about the long-term impact that these misconceptions can have on children’s eating habits and self-perception, and I offer practical strategies for parents to shift the narrative around food in a positive way. From elementary to high school, I walk through age-appropriate approaches to teaching kids about nutrition, both at home and through school-based initiatives.

In this episode we talk about:

- Casual comments about food and their lasting impact on kids.

- My conversation with three school administrators and the surprising trends they notice at their schools when it comes to kids and eating patterns.

- What you can do as parents, no matter if your child is elementary, middle, high school, or college-age, to help develop foundational nutrition habits within you child and your family.

What is SuperMama by Design?

Hello there! My name is Stephanie and I am the founder of SuperMama by Design, LLC . I created this company to offer personalized nutrition and lifestyle coaching for busy moms. As a mom of 4 kids under the age of 8, I know what it means to feel run down, exhausted, stressed, and unhealthy. As a clinical nutritionist and certified personal trainer and health coach, I know what it takes to get things back on track and I’m here to help you! I work with mamas individually to help them solve their individual challenges with nutrition to help restore balance in their bodies and get them feeling great again!

How do I do it? I play detective and dive deep into your symptoms, health history, lab work, family history, daily patterns, lifestyle, and more to put all the pieces together. Everything in our body is connected and if one area is “off” you bet another area is soon to follow. Finding the root cause of the problem is what I do so we can get things back to optimal. I not only look at the clinical side of your health but I also tie in the behavioral, stress, and emotional side of things too. Most of the time I find that people KNOW what to do but they need some guidance on how to change for the better. I have over a decade of experience with the art of behavior change and I’ve helped hundreds of people create lasting change in their life. Message me to see if I can help you.

I look forward to chatting with you!
