Hopeful Tails is a non-profit animal rescue, lead by Gerry Tartaglione, who has saved and well placed thousands of dogs and cats over the course of 30 years, including the displaced dogs of Hurricaine Katrina and many other national disasters. We rescue animals locally, as well as transporting them from all throughout the South, including the Mexican border, and both the Indiana and Amish puppy mills. Every dog is assessed, and all their needs are met. We provide the comfort, health, security and safety, including foster care, when necessary, training, when possible, and lots of TLC. We have a 100% excellent adoption rate, and each adoption is thoroughly screened with the knowledge that the rescue adopted may be returned to Hopeful Tails, if that becomes necessary. Gerry's uncanny ability to match the right rescue with the right family has many of our adoptive families returning many times over the years, and frequently adopting more than one of our rescues. Through our FB community, we have been able to increase the numbers of animals we rescue, as the awareness of and knowledge of our integrity in responsible rescue grows. It is our goal to save as many helpless and hopeless animals as we responsibly can, place them well, and increase our ability to create many more Hopful Tails!

🍁 The Thanksgiving Litter – Maple, Pumpkin, Apple, Cranberry, Cider, Chestnut & Muffin 🐾
Meet our seven little blessings — Maple, Pumpkin, Apple, Cranberry, Cider, Chestnut, and Muffin! These adorable 8-week-old pups have already overcome so much in their short lives. They were found abandoned in a dumping ground down South, left outside with no food, warmth, or comfort. Thankfully, they were rescued and transported to Hopeful Tails Rescue, where they’re finally safe, loved, and ready for forever homes.
Despite their rough start, these puppies are full of joy and sweetness. Each one has their own personality. They love cuddles, mealtime, and nap piles with their siblings.
They’ll grow up to be loyal, loving companions who just need a warm home and a family to call their own. If you’re ready to add some extra love (and puppy kisses!) to your life, apply to adopt one of these precious pups today.

Meet the Apple Litter – Honeycrisp, Gala, Pink Lady, Cortland, McIntosh (Mac), and Empire!�These 10-week-old Black Lab/Hound mix puppies are as sweet as their names. They’re up to date on shots, microchipped, and ready for their forever homes.
This little bunch was heartbreakingly found on dumping grounds in South Carolina and even turned away by the local shelter. Thankfully, Hopeful Tails stepped in to save them, and now they’re safe, happy, and waiting for families to give them the love they deserve.

Poor Goldie is looking for a new home. Her owner just passed away and the family will not keep her. Goldie is devastated. She is a 10 year olg Golden Retriever, fully house broken, never has accidents in the home, walks on a leash and up to date on all vaccinations. She’s great with all dogs and people of all ages. Meet Pearl – Your New Best Friend!
She is being rehomed due to fault of her own. Her family can no longer care for her.

Pearl is a beautiful 3-year-old pup with striking black-and-white markings, brown eyes and a sleek short coat that’s as easy to care for. She’s the perfect blend of energy and affection—always ready for an outdoor adventure, yet equally happy to curl up with her head in your lap for a good cuddle.

She loves to start her day with belly rubs and kisses. This active girl loves to run and would thrive with a family who enjoys walks, hikes, or playtime in the yard. She even knows how to jump on a trampoline. She’s not a fan of cold weather and wears a coat when going outside in winter. When the day winds down, she’s all about snuggle time on the couch. Pearl adores being with her people and will make you feel like the most important person in the world.

Pearl gets a bit nervous meeting people at first, but once they get to know her she is their best friend. She gets along well with other dogs and older children, making her a great fit for many households. However, she’s not a fan of cats or small animals, so she’s best suited to a home without them.

Pearl is healthy, spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready to start her next chapter with a loving family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring joy, laughter, and love into your life, Pearl is waiting to meet you.

Shelby: A Mama Who Deserves a Second Chance!
Shelby is a 2year old sweetheart who never had a place to call home. She was found pregnant on the streets of South Carolina, fending for herself with no one to care for her. Despite her struggles, she was rescued from a shelter where she was at risk of her and her babies being euthanized. Now her 8 beautiful babies are ready to find their forever homes, but it’s also Shelby’s turn to be rescued, loved, and cherished.

Shelby has never had a place to call home and she has some scars on her pretty face from the cruelty she endured. Since not knowing the kindness of humans, she is shy at first, but is a total love bug and once you earn her trust, she will give you tons of kisses!

After everything she’s been through Shelby, deserves a family who will show her kindness, patience, and unconditional love. It is important that Shelby’s owners will be with her a lot so she knows she’s not alone and gets used to being in a real home.

Meet our 8-week old sparkling gems, ready to bring love and joy into your life! These 8 siblings had a rough start in South Carolina.
