Information on mental health and illnesses is abundant on social media. This can lead to concerns and incorrect self-diagnosis. The analysis found that the most popular content surrounding ADHD on TikTok is medically inaccurate and does not mirror the insights of mental health professionals.

People can relate to others on social media and share their experiences with others, but it should not be the way someone self-diagnoses! Let's keep using social media to connect without using it as a scientific tool.

Every year in June, we recognize the importance of men's mental health. There is often a strong focus on men’s physical health — fitness, annual checkups, and heart health — but mental well-being is equally as important because mental health is health!

Just as the body needs care and attention, so does emotional and mental well-being. Yet, there is a silent crisis in men’s mental health — one that too often goes unnoticed or unspoken. Tragically, men are nearly four times more likely to die by su***de than women, underscoring the urgent need to break this silence and seek support.

LOOK WITH WONDER!

What a joy we had spending time with the high school girls over the past three days. We noticed, named, connected, and strengthened to The Truth. At the end of the sessions, we reflected on our theme for the day with songs. It was a time that God was present and moving!

We were honored to spend such sweet time loving on these girls.

Should we keep LOOK WITH WONDER going with a session for middle school girls? Adults? Let us know!

Are you concerned with the amount of screentime your children are getting, especially during the summer? The Institute of Child Psychology recently shared some insight on how overuse of screens can affect children. For more information about this, you can listen to their podcast, The Child Psych Podcast. In episode 130, they speak with Dr. Nicolas Kadaras about the neurological, emotional, and social toll of growing up in a screen-saturated world. He speaks about the dopamine feedback loops of gaming and social media, to the subtle ways technology reshapes attention, identity, and development.

Screens are here to stay! Adults are navigating the screen world just as much as children are. We need to create boundaries with the screens in our lives to avoid misuse and overuse. Dr. Kadaras suggests reconnecting with nature is the most powerful antidote we have. Summer sounds like a great time to do this!
