Honoring a Legend: Terry Fox

At SleevSaver, we draw inspiration from those who push boundaries—and few did that more powerfully than Terry Fox.

In 1980, with a prosthetic leg and relentless determination, Terry began his Marathon of Hope, running across Canada to raise awareness and funding for cancer research. He ran the equivalent of a marathon a day for 143 days—redefining courage and perseverance for generations to come.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Applying SleevSaver

1. Clean the Socket:
— Spray diluted isopropyl alcohol onto the socket.
— Wipe thoroughly with a microfiber cloth to remove debris or residue.

2. Measure the Required Length:
— Measure the socket from side to side to determine the needed length.

3. Cut the SleevSaver Strip:
— Use sharp scissors to cut a strip of SleevSaver from the roll.
— Remove the PET film to expose the adhesive.
— If SleevSaver sticks to itself, simply pull it apart—it separates easily.
— Identify the strip’s midpoint.

4. Apply the SleevSaver:
— Align the strip’s midpoint with the socket trim line.
— Carefully adhere the strip along the trim line.
— IMPORTANT: Do not extend beyond the trim line.
— Trim any excess as needed.

5. Secure the SleevSaver:
— Press the strip firmly into place.
— SleevSaver will not leave residue on your hands or the socket.

6. Affix Your Prosthesis:
— Roll your suspension sleeve over the SleevSaver.
— Regain your vacuum as usual.
