We serve the Massage Therapy Professionals in Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole & Sumter counties.

Chapter meetings are held the 3rd Monday of every month (except June for Convention and December for Holiday Party) at the Marks Street Senior Recreation Center (99 E Marks St., Orlando, FL 32803). Licensed Massage Therapists and Massage Therapy students are welcome to join us for professional networking and education opportunities. Doors open at 4:30pm

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!
Contact Florida Legislators to Protect Massage Therapy!

An amendment filed just before deadline on Friday was snuck into a bill that goes to the floor tomorrow. It would allow cosmetologists to perform "body contouring services". This is outside their scope of practice as it involves lymphatic massage and soft tissue manipulation.
Some legislators may view it as "non-invasive" and believe it to be cosmetic in nature. As massage therapists we know this is a medical procedure and treat it with the seriousness it deserves.

This is an attempt to circumvent the education and licensure necessary to provide massage therapy and bodywork under current health care laws at the expense of our profession!

FSMTA Headquarters sent a message to Florida LMTs urging them to contact lawmakers and let them know THIS AMENDMENT IS NOT OKAY! Check your email for contact information and a message you can share with key lawmakers, as well as, links to find your local representation. .
