Baby/Mom small group "floor play" class to train for healthy walking for you both!
1 hour @ $90 Maximum Class Size is 4
Mom and Infant (4-10 months) can develop proper motor control and core stability together. We will work on positions necessary for healthy progression for baby and retraining for Mom.
The neuro-muscular development required for walking is amazing. Today's commercial toy industry does not take into account the specific stages of postural stability and motor control acquired during the healthy normal growth process. Some popular "toys" are actually harmful to the developing body of an infant. Also, our hurry up world can promote early walking at the toddler's detriment.
The medical profession has underestimated the physiologic changes that occur with pregnancy. Neuro-motor retraining should be done to regain normal breathing (without reflux) and pelvic alignment for example. It is essential for the young and more mature mom who wants to be active with their children and into midlife and beyond without back, hip, or knee issues.
Much of the same "training" can happen together during floor play! Joy L. Meyer, MD can show you how to best take care of your infant AND get in shape yourself. Learn and have fun with old or new friends. Small classes offered, individual appointments also welcome. Those with pain before pregnancy should address those during a regular appointment.
