Truth time...

Sometimes I wake up feeling UNmotivated 🙇🏽‍♀️

Which oftentimes leads to me being UNproductive.

When I’m not making visible progress it tends to make me UNappreciative of myself.

I start to doubt my capabilities.
Or if my goals are even valid.

My inner demon says- “Maybe I should just go back to what I was doing, where I was comfortable”😈

But then I remember something.

My goals are not UNrealistic, theyre UNconventional

My mind is not UNsure it’s UNadulterated

I know what I want and I have a plan to get there.

But sometimes I need a little grace with myself

Have you ever felt that way?

If so, I challenge you to UNdo and rewire the way that you think.

We are capable of achieving the things we want if we are honest with ourselves, forgiving towards ourselves, disciplined and working with a clear UNwavering vision.

Keep it in sight guys! 😎

I get asked often what the best ways are to tighten and grow your glutes

There are a few things you want to do anytime you want to grow a muscle:

1) PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD-
aka work your way up in weight on your lifts starting with a base weight for about 10-12 reps, then in a few weeks add weight and lower reps until you can do that weight at 10-12 reps

2) EAT ENOUGH-
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to tell someone to eat MORE. Like what. You need ample protien, carbs and fats to grow a muscle, you may even need a little over your maintenance calories by about 200-500 cals

3) BURNOUTS-
These build muscular endurance but also get blood flowing into to muscle for that “pump” everyone’s always referring to. The one in this video works great and BURNS like crazy.

I posted yesterday about a slingshot effect

And how backwards motions can build forward momentum

I want to talk about another kind of slingshot

There’s a theory that applies to outer space

It says- that a smaller craft can use the gravitational pull of a larger planet to slingshot itself into its desired direction at maximal speed.

Again, let’s make an analogy.

Think of yourself as the spacecraft on a journey through outer space

You have a set destination, but you don’t have enough fuel to get you there.

Life is like that sometimes.

Maybe you know what needs to be done
But you don’t have the fuel or the tools to do it on your own

Maybe all it takes for you to get where you want to go, at maximal speed-
Is that gravitational pull

Someone, or a group of people who can take you from that point of wanting to quit

To reaching your desired destination, faster than you ever could’ve imagined.

Whether you’re wanting to lose 10 pounds, 50 pounds or just be healthier..

Sometimes all you need to give you that extra push is someone outside of yourself, to swing you into the right direction

This is why I have created a private Facebook community and also why I put so much into guiding my clients step by step through their journey.

Have you ever heard of the sling shot effect?

Probably not because I made it up.

But here is.. theres 2 parts to it

Have you ever used a slingshot before? To make it shoot faster and farther, you have to pull it back first and let it go

Now, Consider this an analogy for life.

What if all your setbacks were actually just momentum builders meant to ready for that forward flight

What if the only reason you’re still held back is because you haven’t let go?

Are you still holding on to your old habits, ideals and mindsets?

Would you be willing to let them go If you knew in full faith the result would be epic?

What if been running yourself into the ground trying so hard to attain that which seems impossible

Only to find out that all you really needed to do was free yourself

This is where a lot of my clients find themselves before working with me.

Stuck.
Stuck on one weight
Stuck on one way of doing things
And so hard on themselves when they have set backs

One of the BIGGEST things we work on in my programs is FREEING your mind from the unnecessary pressure that we love to put on ourselves

Because once you can let go of that, the rest of it is truly just science.

It’s hard for me as a coach to admit something like this...

I feel like I should be a perfect example for my clients.

But the truth is-I have lots of excuses.

I should workout but…
I’m so tired
I have no extra time
My body hurts

I should cook a healthy meal but…
It is so much extra work
I didn’t go to the grocery store
Take Out is much more convenient

My mind thinks of every reason why I should not do what I know needs to be done.

But, here's the thing.

I do get up and workout.
I do cook that healthy meal.

HOWEVER,
I wasn’t always this way

It took me finding someone who would consistently hold me accountable for my bu****it excuses rather than feeding into the story that I could do this on my own

It took me finding ways of creating more time which took away from the pressure of extra work and lost time

Until I could make this a lifestyle and sustain the results that I wanted

I had a TON of excuses for why I couldn’t be lean or toned after having a baby

But I took the leap of faith, and trusted someone who had accomplished what I had always wanted.

So I want to ask you… what’s your biggest excuse?

What hinders you from fitting into those pants or rocking that bikini?

Can you overcome these obstacles on your own?

Have you tried 5, 10, 15 different diets just to bounce back to the set point weight that you started at?

Chocolate Cherry Smoothie Bowl!

You’re gonna want to save this one for sure!

You guys this smoothie bowl is maybe one of my ALL time favorites. I mean really anything involving chocolate 🤷🏽‍♀️.. not to mention this is one of the best ways for me to get Carolina to eat her greens!

If you’re wanting something indulgent, satisfying and nutritious to add to your repertoire I’ve got you covered! Recipe below!!

1/2 cup frozen cherries
1/3 frozen banana
1/2-3/4 cup frozen spinach
1 scoop your favorite chocolate protein powder
1 tablespoon cocoa powder(optional for my fellow chocolate feigns)
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 tsp cacao nibs

Blend everything together in a high powered blender or food processor until smooth and then top with whatever your fav toppings are!! I used some homemade granola, a couple frozen cherries and a sprinkle of cacao nibs!
