Day 7 - Going Inwards in October
Day 3 - Going Inwards in October
Breathwork for Calming
How are you? Take a moment to check in with your body. What are you feeling? Notice your breath. If it is short and primarily in the chest, join me in learning the belly breath. If your shoulders are tense, join me. If you're feeling anxious or having trouble sleeping, join me. In a few breaths you can enable your body to reset and shift out of the stressful state that it might currently be in.
I understand that life feels stressful at the moment, maybe it always does, but finding a few moments thorughout the day to use your breath as a tool for calming and healing will only allow you to keep fighting the good fight and doing the work.

FLOW
I just spent a week hanging out with my sacral chakra. I took baths, ate pleasurable foods, meditated to the sounds of water and even imagined sitting in a boat. I smelled sweet orange oil throughout my day, had a carnelian stone on me at most times, journaled about letting go, nurturing the feminine, and pleasure.
I am currently connecting very strongly to the elemental aspect of each chakra (as I join my ladies @urbanompoweryoga in #understandingenergy). During root week I really tried to feel the sensations of earth, as if I was rooting down, digging down, grounding down.
During sacral week I tried to feel breath roll through my body as if they were waves, to feel my body ripple around in movement and to allow my thoughts and emotions to come and go like the tides. Moment to moment I would coach myself to let go and allow what’s here for me in this moment to be my focus. Still very much a practice but the ease that flow can bring, especially over a decent bit of earth underneath, is very freeing.
Allowing has not been easy but as I connect further and further, I find more flow.
Awareness. Balance. Flow.

I let go. I let go. I let go. I allow. I allow. I allow. I trust. I trust. I trust.
This is me playing with fear. A few years ago I had a very rude awakening to how much I let fear rule my life. I decided then that I would start to make a change. I began by creating a list of things I would do if I wasn’t afraid and then I began exploring that list. This is how surfing became a new hobby. I don’t do it because I’m good at it, I do it to face fear and discomfort. I am lovingly taking steps into my fear, desensitizing myself and learning to embrace the sensations of fear, learning to embrace fear and move through it. I practice this all the time - talking to someone when I don’t feel like engaging, trusting that investments in myself and my business will be rewarded, jumping off of things, climbing things, doing handstands in new places - these are all small ways I can lean into fear and get to know it.
After a few years of this inquiry into fear I now play a game of witnessing when words, thoughts for actions are being driven by fear or love. I pay attention to my own motivations and practice witnessing this in others - not for judgement but for understanding. Am I or someone else saying hurtful things because of the fear or rejection? Am I or someone else backing down from moving closer to their goals because of fear of failure? Am I moving from a place of fear or love?
If I find MY motivations are from fear I simply guide myself back with a simple phrase like “I choose love over this” or “Can I find love in this situation?”. Understand that fear is not inherently bad, sometimes it’s a motivator but lasting change is fueled by love. Fear simply shows us where we can add more love and a life with more love is ALWAYS better.
You cannot expect change to happen if you don’t create the space for the work to be done. ❤️❤️❤️Full video on creating a home wellness space now on YouTube. #linkinbio
Some moves for your Monday. I’m loving this combo move 💪🏻 Add a dumbbell to kick it up a notch AND/OR try to balance between each move.

This is how we yoga when pups don’t feel good. Finding moments of self care so that I may continue to show up for those in my life that need my love and care. Self care is an act of service. It starts by filling your cup first. Do this with things that rejuvenate and make you feel good. Then once your cup is full that love and care spills over to those around you. You are not being selfish you are prioritizing your body and your soul at the top of your list so that everyone benefits. 💕
