We’ve all heard the idea that it takes 21 days to build a habit…but the truth is, lasting change doesn’t work on a fixed timeline.

Research shows that building habits can take anywhere from 2 to 5 months (or more) depending on the person and the behavior. That means if you’ve ever felt frustrated for “falling off track” after a few weeks—you’re not failing, you’re just human.

I often get asked where to start or how to keep going when it comes to building better habits—and honestly, that’s the hardest part for most people. This article does a great job breaking it down in a simple, realistic way.

The real key? Consistency over perfection.

It’s not about going all in for a short burst and burning out. It’s about showing up on the days you don’t feel like it, keeping your habits simple, and stacking small wins over time.

Those small, repeatable actions are what actually rewire your routine and create lasting change.

And this applies to your health, too. Chiropractic care isn’t just something you do when you’re in pain—it can be part of a routine that helps keep your body moving well, functioning properly, and feeling its best over time. Just like exercise or stretching, it works best when it’s consistent.
