The Tarot Card of the Day is...
There is a definite feeling of being trapped when the 8 of Swords appears in your day or in your reading. This could be an issue of physical entrapment, such as with matters related to the law or justice, as Swords often deal with legal matters. But Swords also deal with thoughts and words, so you may also be trapped by your own fears and insecurities, or even paranoias or suspicions when this card appears.

This card often portrays a negative connotation, but there is a castle in the background that could be yours for the taking. Sometimes the 8 of Swords is called the Test card in the Tarot, and as such represents a test you may have to undergo in life, such as a mental or physical test, or a physical one such as a legal difficulty or problem with the law.

The figure in the 8 of Swords card is bound and blindfolded. You may not see this test coming, and you may not have all of the facts at hand. Sometimes this leads us into paranoia and suspicions that are unfounded. If you are feeling particularly mentally anguished in your life right now, the 8 of Swords may be telling you to open your eyes to the facts before getting too swept away in the situation. You may be undergoing intense scrutiny right now, and this could actually be of your own making.

Every Thought, Every Breath, Every Action you take affects the vibration of your energy. You are transforming your energy without realizing it, without even thinking about it.

Many people think of energy in a very limited way. They think of energy as being electricity or the gasoline that powers their car. Electricity and gasoline are indeed forms of energy, but so is a flower, a rock, a star, the air-- everything in the universe is energy, just in different forms.

One of the foundations of Spring Forest Qigong healing is based on the simple, yet profound understanding that everything in the universe is energy, and that means YOU are an energy being.

Every cell in your body is a form of energy. Your thoughts are also a form of energy. Sickness, whether it manifests physically, mentally, or emotionally, is also a form of energy.

Imagine how effective you can be if you become more aware of your energy and learn how to direct the transformation of your energy. All you have to do is learn how to transform and enhance your energy, and then put it to use.

In China, the study and practice of transforming the energy (qi) to live a life of optimum health, wellness, and happiness came to be called qigong. (Qigong has many other facets as well, but it is the healing aspect we are focused on at Inspire H&F)

So how do we change the vibration of our energy to be happier, healthier, more positive, more creative, more joyful and more helpful for yourself and to others?

AWARENESS. When you become more aware of your thoughts, breath, and actions you are able to change the energy vibration to a higher vibration... one of love, happiness, and joy.

You can change the vibration of your energy to be Happier, Healthier, more Positive, more Creative, more Joyful, and more Helpful to yourself and to others, all you need to do is bring your energy into balance, maintain that balance, and keep the energy flowing smoothly. And you can accomplish this through the practice of Qigong.

Sweet Potatoes are an incredibly nutritious food that are packed with antioxidants like beta carotene, vitamins C, E & D, and minerals such as manganese and iron. They are also high in potassium which helps to lower blood pressure by removing excess sodium and regulating fluid balance in the body. Sweet potatoes are an excellent anti-stress food and are known to help relax muscles, steady nerves, and balance cognitive function.

They are also one of the best anti-cancer foods and can particularly help to prevent breast, colon, lung, skin, and oral cancers. Sweet potatoes are known for being easy to digest and are very good for ulcers, inflamed colons, digestive disorders, and constipation. Sweet potatoes contain compounds called phytochelatins that can bind to heavy metals such as lead, mercury, copper, & cadmium and safely remove them through the body.

Mothers have even given children who have accidentally swallowed a metallic object such as a coin, plenty of sweet potato so that it will stick to the object and allow it to pass through easier. The health benefits of sweet potatoes are the most bioavailable when eaten raw, steamed, or baked.

The Tarot Card of the Day is...
A pause of some sort in your efforts and hard work arrives with the 7 of Pentacles. Here we see a man resting his efforts on a shovel, while he gazes at all of the pentacles, or material effects, he has piled up in front of him. I've seen this card after gardeners come in from the Spring season, and they eagerly anticipate the blossoms for Summer and Fall, so this card can be taken literally in that sense. But it's also a spiritual and metaphorical lesson to the question you are bringing to the Tarot today.

The 7 of Pentacles is a card of no sudden movement. It's the time to pull back from the situation and have a good long look at things. You may already be in this pause mode. Is your question something like, "When will he call me?" or, "Why hasn't she apologized yet?" or, "Will I land that job after all of those interviews?" It's something of a waiting period in play when the 7 of Pentacles appears, regardless of the question. There's nothing you can do here but wait, and know that this card usually augurs success. Your crops will come in. But right now, trying to force or rush the issue will not help.
