FDA wants to ban Natural Desicated Thyroid NDT medication - A LIFELINE to most thyroid patients and only allow cheep synthetic synthroid medication that often cause sideeffects and are well tolerated.
FDA sent a letter to manufacturers of natural thyroid medication stating that after August 6th of 2026, they will take action against any manufacturers of natural thyroid medication. Here are the facts:
NDT was grandfathered into use in 1938. It has been used since 1891. The FDA did not form until 1930.
Adverse reactions reported to the FDA are publicly available. Since 1968 natural thyroid has had 2851 adverse reactions. Over that same timeframe synthetic T4 thyroid has had 76,557 reported reactions.
There have never been any documented cases of infections from natural thyroid or impurities and natural thyroid causing harm. It has just never happened.
