Whether you’re a caregiver, a health professional, or someone simply navigating loss, this message is for YOU. Let’s normalize these conversations and support one another through all stages of life.

Hi, I’m Ashley 👋🏽

My journey into death care started long before Loyal Hands, rooted in lived experience, advocacy, and a deep commitment to community. I’ve learned a lot along the way: there are highs, hard lessons, and moments that stretch you… but purpose has a way of keeping you grounded.

I’m here to create space for real conversations about life, legacy, grief, and choice.

If you’re new here, welcome. If you’ve been here, thank you.
Let’s keep talking about what matters. 💛

✨ Follow along for education, reflection, and meaningful dialogue.

is doing transformative work to ensure everyone has the information, support, and autonomy they deserve when navigating end-of-life options. Their commitment to expanding access, advancing policy, and uplifting community voices continues to change lives every single day.

I’m grateful to serve alongside the incredible leaders on the African American Leadership Council, where we advocate for greater equity, education, and empowerment in marginalized communities. Together, we’re addressing long-standing disparities and making sure our communities are informed, supported, and heard.

To be part of this work and to be guided by such powerful, visionary leadership is truly an honor.
Here’s to continuing the movement.

✨ I had the joy of volunteering for a teach-in with two 3rd grade classes! I got to introduce the kids to the world of end-of-life doulas and one of our most important skills: active listening.

We read the book “The Rabbit Listened,” a beautiful story about the power of simply being present and listening when someone is going through a tough time exactly what doulas do for families and individuals at the end of life.

After the story, we did a hands-on activity where we passed around a stuffed rabbit, encouraging conversation and showing how listening can create connection and understanding. The kids had amazing questions and really tapped into their compassion, reminding me that empathy can start young.

Feeling grateful to plant seeds of care, listening, and compassion in these bright young hearts today.

💛 Radical Bravery is showing up… even when it’s hard.

At 2025, I saw some of the most inspiring speakers exploring how we face grief, illness, caregiving, and dying with open eyes and open hearts.

All of it aimed at transforming how we live, care, and connect.

Every conversation reminded me: bravery isn’t just big gestures, it’s the everyday choice to show up, listen, and act with compassion.

✨ One month post-Doulapalooza ✨

Still filled with gratitude and inspiration from this unforgettable gathering of hundreds of end-of-life professionals, doulas, hospice workers, funeral directors, chaplains, and more, all coming together to learn, share, and serve.

Being in a room full of peers and changemakers reminded me why this work matters. Every conversation, every session, every moment reaffirmed the heart behind what we do.

This is just a snippet of the magic that was , the laughter, the learning, the love.

My personal highlight? The hotel made a special exception to let us donate our uneaten food to a local shelter. Compassion in action, that’s what community looks like.

Let’s keep the energy going! Were you there? Drop your favorite Doulapalooza memory or tag someone who should join us next time. 💬👇

Getting ready for the 5th Annual Talk Death Scavenger Hunt! 🕵🏾‍♀️⚰️

Every year I love connecting with the and End of Life community, but this year is extra special — funds are going to the Black Cemetery Network, helping preserve historically Black burial sites that have been lost or threatened for decades.

Community, connection, and cause, all in one event. 💛

Honored and thrilled to be featured in magazine! Thank you for the opportunity.

End-of-life doulas and funeral directors share a beautiful mission: to guide families with care, compassion, and dignity during life’s most profound moments. 🤝💛 Collaboration in deathcare isn’t just about services—it’s about connection, trust, and creating meaningful experiences for those we serve.

Grateful for the chance to shine a light on how doulas and funeral directors can work hand-in-hand to support families in their journey.

Ever wonder how an end-of-life doula differs from a direct disposer? Both roles are rooted in compassion and dignity, but they serve very different needs.

✨ End-of-life doulas: Support you and your loved ones emotionally, spiritually, and practically through the dying process. Think guidance, advocacy, and holding space.

⚱️ Direct disposers: Handle the physical care and final disposition of remains with professionalism, respect, and care. Think logistics, hands-on services, and honoring the body.

We want to hear from you:
Share your experience if you’ve worked with a doula, a disposer, or both.

Let’s start a conversation that demystifies these important roles and shows how they can complement each other. 💛
