My sister and I were talking about body image and growing up primarily in the 80s with a very specific body type idealized. We’re both working on appreciating who we are more and more—especially now that we’re in our 50s! This body works hard for me and I want to focus on gratitude more than self-critique.

This is —outside, active, focused on goals and preventing disease progression. My footsteps are irregular (not to mention tiny, but that’s a whole other story. 🤭) but they keep going and won’t stop. 🧡

I have wrinkles. I have silver in my hair. I’m freckled and dimpled and so happy about it all! My dad and his parents died young. I’ve been fighting MS and its symptoms and medication side effects for decades. I was told to keep my expectations low when MS tried to take over but here I am living and loving life and aging joyously if not gracefully. I won’t fill my wrinkles. I won’t cover my gray. I will celebrate them!
