Happy Heavenly Birthday to Malcolm Jamal Warner (aka THEO). He was so humble and kind with talent transcending through generations. I was so honored and fortunate to have met him and to have shared the stage (or, rather "the set") with him on a pilot (episode)of Reed Between The Lines (TV show). I watched in awe at these amazing talents and laughed (VERY HARD) at this, somewhat of a child prodigy (an all grown up, Theo), alongside the (very funny) Tony Rock (Chris Rock's brother) and my beautiful and wonderfully gifted cousin, Michole Briana White (aka Lucille, on BMF Black Mafia Family).....thanks cuz, Michole for the "EXTRA", opportunity.......yall were HILARIOUS to watch!!!! Malcolm was truly like everyone's (little, or big) brother, growing up along with most of us! This is why we must do better to stay in communication with each other and love on each other, while we can, because life is BUT A V***R! May his soul rest in peace and we are in continuous prayer for his family and friends as the navigate through these turbulent times. God Bless

As WE THE PEOPLE, celebrate this Independence Day, 4th of July, let us not only reflect on the freedom of our country, but also on the freedom that God, through Christ has allowed us to experience. 2 Corinthians 3:17 states, "Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY."
Christ died for our sins so that we may be freed from the bo***ge of sin and death.
When He died, He became that Spirit and it was sent out to everyone, everywhere, that is willing to except it and allow the Holy Spirit to have its way! Technically, I believe, it is in all of us but ready to be activated by accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior (it is lying dormant in some of us). This Spirit is a guide back to God (a sort of GPS to God) .
Now with accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior, we accept that Spirit and all that comes with it. We all know that the Lord was led to the garden of Gethsemane to be tempted by the devil, and that he endured hurt, hunger, previous trials and tribulations, but yet, He stood His ground and told the devil to flee (proving His Faith and Obedience).
Well.......guess what, WE too, will go through trials, tribulations, and even be tempted, but we must remember God(with the Holy Spirit) is with us. 1 Peter 4:12 tells us, "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strang thing has happened unto you."(remember Jesus went through it, as well). He, not only will carry us through, but will also show you all way out of the temptations THAT ARE SURE TO COME, IN THIS WORLD!
The question is..........WILL WE TAKE THE WAY OUT?(and tell the devil to flee....get behind thee), which God provides for us, or will we choose to give in (remember God is so gracious that HE gives us FREEDOM of choice, too🫢). Let's make the right choice to obey and follow Him, letting the Holy Spirit have its way. We must allow The Holy Spirit to move and guide us.
Also, today, "Let the same mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus," says Philippians 2:5!
This way, we can not go wrong! In this way, our attitudes will be characterized by humility, obedience, selflessness, and love. This mind along with the Holy Spirit's guidance is surely to lead us to our FINAL DESTINATION.....and NO, NOT THAT HORROR MOVIE.....hahaaaa!
Be blessed, all.....and Happy Independence 4th of July Day!
*A special Happy Heavenly Birthday to our loving Shih Tzu(fur-baby) 🐕 Tuxedo Taylor*

Happy Father's Day to all of my amazing family and friends that are dads/father figures, celebrating their SPECIAL DAY! Also let us remember those that are no longer with us. May they be remembered and celebrated as well. We must never forget where we come from, but more importantly, we must be conscious about where we are going and where we want to go, when we leave here. God has been so good to us. Never have I seen the righteous, forsaken......says Psalms 37:25. We should always want to put in the work that is needed to get there, which consists of......LOVE AND OBEDIENCE TO HIS WORD and to the purpose He has for our lives. God made MAN in His own likeness......that we may carry out, the resemblance in, NOT the physical, but in the CHARACTERISTICS OF HIM! Be blessed and know that YOU ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE.....Psalm 139:14

Happy Heavenly Birthday to my hansome and dear uncle Charles, who was ONE OF THE BEST TO.....EVER TO DO IT,.....one of the best funeral directors,/slash funeral home owners on the South Side of Chicago, IL. This amazing man stepped-in and became a father figure(after his baby brother, my father passed away),.....which shaped much of who I am, today. He gave us all (well, at least, most of his family), opportunities and platforms to prepare us all for our futures. He may have been stern in his teachings and preachings, but it was tough love that we would need for our worldly encounters(TODAY)! I probably wouldn't be in this field of Funeral Business, if he hadn't given me the chance to work under his mentorship at Charles B. Taylor Funeral Home. May your Legacy live on! Thanks for all the tough love, because it is truly a dog-eat-dog world out here. More importantly, thanks for your relentless years of serving the South Side of Chicago and surrounding areas, as well as for displaying THE TRUE WORKS of a humanitarian/business man!!!!! Your services were done with class, compassion, and great work ethics,.....something that we strive to maintain, here at Martin Taylor Funeral Home! THANKS FOR THE LESSONS AND THE LOVE......REST ON!
