Take Away: I think we've all heard of the high sodium content in frozen meals even the "light" options as well with anything that is canned. If you have high blood pressure or have been put on a low salt diet this is a great slideshow. Check out slide #16 and 17 for identifying all the different forms of salt and what "sodium free" and "low sodium" really mean.

Surprise! Salty foods can be found in places you hadn’t considered. And foods high in sodium are sometimes hard to avoid. But arm yourself with tips from WebMD to make smart, low-sodium choices wherever you are.

Can I just say “I didn’t get the memo to wear red?”😂 🎄Truth be told, no matter how she is feeling health wise this little lady always looks her best when she comes in.

A reminder that We should dress for the body we have and current lifestyle especially as we age. Adapting and changing your style can be challenging. But first and foremost the clothes you wear should make YOU feel good!

Back to the Grind... Yay😬After some much needed time off how do you get back into the swing of things at work?

My focus today will be one thing at a time, I will more than like not get through all my emails. I will do my best to not let guilt push me into believing that I have to work myself into the ground because I was away. Everyone deserves a vacation to reboot mentally and physically🛀🏼

Seeing several prescriptions for the combo weight loss drug Qsymia this week speaks true to the aftermath of the holidays. Enjoying great meals with family and loved ones means indulging a bit more than normal. Myself included😋

Some tips to lessen overeating and over indulging are:
1: Do not skip a meal to “save up” for later
2. Take your time and eat slowly
3. Eat protein first and do your best to fill half the plate w/ vegetables
4. Wait 10 minutes before going back for seconds.
Hopefully this will help all of us with the battle of the holiday bulge ⚖️ 😬

Being a new Mom is an emotionally charged event. There are lots of days full of delightful experiences. And days full of panic, anguish and frustration over things you don’t know and tasks no one told you about. The postpartum struggle is real on many levels 👶

That is why it is so important to find time for selfcare, to look for opportunities to chat with other Moms and cultivate friendships, and to ask for help from family 👨‍👨‍👧‍👦

It’s also a good idea to meet with your doctor if you notice feelings that don’t fade or get worse with time. Postpartum can be very difficult, but help is out there☀️

These unexpected gifts left on the sidewalk caught my eye as I was walking by. It totally made my day! It was even cooler watching someone else find one after I hid them and seeing the smile that came across their face! Now that was awesome😃

Kindness rocks are just that. Small gifts made with the idea of bringing joy to others, with an uplifting message for someone having a bad day or to serve as the sign that one has been looking for. Sometimes all we need is a little kindness, a little encouragement ... a little hope to get through the day. Thank you to whoever made these rocks🙏

Me: “Do you have any questions for me about this new medication?”

“Yes, can I continue to self medicate with CBD?”

Me: “Is your Doctor aware that you have been self medicating with CBD?”

“No”

Me: “Okay, let’s talk about it”💡

When it comes to skin care, there is no one-size-fits-all. Everyone has unique skin tones, skin types, genetics and lifestyle that make it impossible to have a single remedy.

It took me years to discover how to treat acne effectively for my skin. The changes I made that had the most positive impact on my skin and have stayed with me up to today are:
1. Breaking the habit of touching my face, propping my chin or cheek on my hands. Our hands pick up bacteria that can cause acne and/or irritate the face.
2. Washing my face twice a day
3. Using salicylic acid face wash products for my oily skin.
