Inspired by her father’s battle with dementia, she created a comprehensive guide for family caregivers. The guide provides practical advice, emotional support, and valuable resources to help caregivers navigate the challenges of caring for loved ones living with dementia.

Wambūi Karanja of Kenya is "one to watch," says the Alzheimer's Association. Coping with her dad's condition inspired her to develop a training program for families on the art of caregiving.

Today, we enjoyed a wonderful coffee gathering at our Salisbury office! It was great to have our amazing staff come together with friends from Noble Horizons, Community Health & Wellness, East Mountain House, Northwell Health, and Undermountain Partners. The event was filled with laughter, good conversations, and delicious treats as we shared ideas and strengthened our connections. We truly appreciate the chance to collaborate and support each other in our efforts to make a positive impact in our community. 💗

We attended a senior luncheon hosted by Noble Horizons and presented by Northwell Health, which focused on the importance of discussing end-of-life care wishes with family and friends. Dr. Mark Marshall of Northwell Health, who is also our hospice physician, delivered an informative talk on the topic.

The event includes a screening of the documentary “Come See Me in the Good Light” and a facilitated audience discussion about Hospice and Palliative Care. As the cost of living rises, many seniors, particularly those aged 65 and older, are finding it increasingly difficult to afford to live alone. As a result, there is a growing trend among this demographic to seek roommates to help manage expenses.

Roommates overall are skewing older, as young people stay with their parents for longer. The share of older adults looking to rent with a roommate has tripled from a decade ago.
