Good Afternoon TBI friends!

I am excited to announce that I will be starting my second round of my interview series shortly. In the year of 2022 we reached over 50,000 viewers worldwide! That wouldn't have been possible without the help of all of you. If you would like to join an interview with me drop a comment and I will be posting my interview schedule soon! Please feel free to share with family and friends. (Interviews are open to any and all TBI survivors, caregivers, family/friends of survivors, neurologists and any health care professionals).

I had a great time kicking off traumatic brain injury awareness month today with AHIF. I was able to share a few interviews from my interview series that I have completed in 2022, listen to tbi stories and answer a few questions. Thank you AHIF for having me!

This Tuesday our interview comes from Pennsylvania! I spoke with Johnathan and his mom (Jessica) a couple weeks ago and they shared Johnathans story as well as another caregiver perspective. I always enjoy doing interviews for this series but Johnathan definitely brightened my day with his smile. There were parts of the video where the audio cut out but in case you didn’t hear, Johnathan is incredibly smart. In school he had a 4.0 gpa and was heading to college before his accident in May. Listening to his story it sounded and looks like he is making great progress. Give Johnathan’s interview a listen and share! Thank you Jessica and Johnathan for sharing your story💚

Tanya is from Oregon! I definitely teared up editing this interview. Tanya thank you again for sharing your dads story and your experience as a family becoming caregivers. You can see Tanya’s real emotions as she talks about her dads story. It is a great interview to listen to if you are on the outside looking in. My prayers are with her family as they continue to navigate this road everyday.

This Tuesday I am sharing Michael Madden’s story and he is from Massachusetts! I had a great time doing this interview with him. I loved what he said at the end about finding a creative outlet to help your recovery. Michael is a musician and study music in college. He is The Hack Musician on facebook and instagram. He would like to work with neurodivergent musicians because he has developed easier ways of learning over the past 17 years, breaking down his music degree information in a way that's easier to follow for those with cognitive struggles. He also teaches aural perception so people who cannot read or are blind can learn to play along by ear. From Michael “Anything you can improve or even excel at, drastically improves self confidence and the ability to have less awkward or confrontational social interactions”. Check out his pages to learn more about what he likes to do!

Prayers for Tua.
I spent many years in college writing assignments about the concussion protocol in the nfl and how it’s always been brushed off leading many players to CTE. I immediately shook my head the other day when I saw this on tv saying he had a back injury and cleared from concussion….. this injury can be life changing and should be taken more seriously.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa sustained neck and head injuries after being slammed to the ground Thursday night.

I am boosting my interviews up to two videos per week now because I have had so many interviews lately! I couldn’t do it without the brain injury community. So THANK YOU!

Today I am sharing my interview with Joe Borges!
Joe actually had an acquired brain injury and if you are not familiar with an ABI you can learn more in our interview. Either way, they are ALL brain injuries! There was so much I didn't know about this specific brain injury and Joe was able to sum everything up perfectly. I had a blast doing this interview with Joe and letting him share all of his knowledge. We got CALIFORNIA!!
Check out his podcast The NeuroNerds and his page to learn more about what he does.
