Today’s Room with a Bloom activity was a beautiful blend of creativity, learning, and a touch of nature’s storytelling 🌿🌼
A big thank you to Dave, our wonderful volunteer from the Missouri Botanical Garden, who joins us every other month and always brings something special to share. This time, our residents didn’t just create stunning floral arrangements—they discovered the meanings behind each bloom.
Ferns, symbolizing resilience in Victorian times, reminded us of strength through life’s seasons. Yellow carnations represented friendship, perfectly fitting for the laughter shared around the table. Purple mums stood for success, celebrating all the little victories that make each day meaningful.
We even explored some unique additions! Eucalyptus, known for its medicinal uses, and delicate wax flowers from the evergreen family added texture and interest—plus we learned that some of these plants are even used in seafood sauces!
By the end of the session, our tables were filled with gorgeous arrangements and even fuller hearts. We truly learned so much and had a wonderful time doing it 💐
