First off, I’m all for having pieces that cross over multiple life phases and seasons. But, no matter how you slice it, there’s still so much variation to a woman’s wardrobe compared to a man’s! Swipe right 👉🏼 to read the slides.

Compared to my husband, I have essentially five different body size categories, depending on whether I am pregnant, immediately postpartum, breastfeeding, or non pregnant, non breastfeeding body size. And not to mention, the seasonal aspect of those clothing items, too- and the ever changing undergarment sizes🤪

Anyway, kinda random but that’s what I was thinking about today after organizing some clothes😂

Have you thought about this before?!

An observation from over a decade of working with clients in a 1:1 setting:
…..it really depends on the person😅

I’ve seen every variation you can think of: clients who needed to focus more on potassium, clients who needed to focus more on sodium, clients who needed to focus more on both.

People who needed more magnesium to bring down elevated aldosterone which was skewing their sodium retention relative to potassium, which was contributing to elevated blood pressure and water retention.

Clients who discovered their panic attacks stopping in their tracks after dosing potassium, pregnant clients improving their swelling with ample sodium intake, and more.

And while testing can allow you to gather unbiased information on your mineral levels including oxidation rate, cofactors, and other factors that influence electrolyte retention and balance,

For those willing to troubleshoot and tune in to their needs, you can glean a lot of information from your body’s own cues. I detail some of these in the slides (swipe right👉🏼 for my full thoughts!)

The majority of discoveries like this are accidental 😂 Swipe right to read why an obsession with tart green apples may have been supportive during pregnancy!

Keep in mind this is JUST ONE thing, I was also doing the other things I know are supportive (detailed in my most recent highlight)

Funny enough I also started craving apples sautéed with butter, topped with a squeeze of lemon juice and cinnamon, and had that as a carb source several times during the week.

As it turns out, this can further compound the benefits of the fibers contained in apples along with the existing quercetin!👀

One of my favorite not-so-fun-facts 🥴were you aware of this?

And while some people have heard how it takes 17 years for research to reach mainstream clinical practice, many aren’t aware that until 1993, women were not even *required* to be included as a demographic in studies.

We tend to think of these two hormones as having limited mechanisms of action when in reality, they’re incredibly multifaceted, nuanced, and complex!

For example, how many times have we been told (by the internet) cortisol = bad!

When, in reality, it’s much more complicated than that🧐

And in the case of melatonin, we tend to immediately think of melatonin= it makes me sleepy at bedtime. Which it does, but it’s also involved in dozens of other important physiological functions, which is one reason why promoting good sleep hygiene is so important!

There’s so much more to say than I can sufficiently expound upon in a few slides, and a caption with a character limit.
