Then there was ‘that’ day...

...that will never be forgotten. It’s emboldened on my heart. It’s like a blur. The day when everything changed. The day time stood still. The most painful day I will NEVER forget.

The day my husband told me that he ‘had cheated’.

BOOM! There is was. The answer to so many things but the words I never wanted to hear. I pushed away. I walked away. I even slapped him.

Marriage counseling was bust. He thought it would just ‘be okay’ if he came clean. He sought affirmation and intimacy while I screamed and yelled and paced the floor. All the questions I had. All the pain I carried. Unbelievable, deep horrifying pain. Where did it come from and how could I get it to go away? My dreams haunted me. I slept all day. I moved into the spare bedroom. I didn’t clean or cook or pay much attention to the children. Breathing hurt.

Months past and nothing changed. The marriage counseling became a sling fight of who was right and who was wrong. Sentences like, “If only you did ___________, then I wouldn’t have had to _______.” and “You never ______.” The arguing turned into silence and silence turned into depression.

After six months I realized that the professionals were not helping and I sought a different solution. I called the church and asked if they could help me. I attended a women’s bible study for the following year for betrayal and my heart was set free. What a joyous occasion when I stood at our graduation and share the testimony of what God had set me free of: co-dependency, anger, unforgiveness, my pride, my selfishness. I was a changed woman.

I loved my time I returned as a co-facilitator. I’ve spent the last 8 years walking through this healing journey and now I bring it to you. It’s not a workbook or a bible class. It’s an interactive process with God to heal your hearts so that you can become the woman God has always wanted to be. My coaching is gentle yet firm. I’ll be your biggest cheerleader and help you gain a new toolbox of conflict resolution skills. You’ll exchange lies for Truth and learn to love yourselves. You’ll leave with new vocabulary and a new skip in your step.

The coaching last 6 months, but the freedom lasts forever. And, at the end of our season together I promise you’ll have a testimony that includes, “I was broken, BUT GOD... helped me heal.”
