I stumbled on what I think is an amazing may to look at meal planning. It starts with beans and legumes which is the basis for protein. I’m not a vegetarian. I like a piece of meat on my plate.

May I suggest another vegetable and something raw. Adding cucumber salad to my meal last night was amazing. I ate a lot but my blood sugar did not spike. The vinaigrette was made with apple cider vinegar (I’ve got to do some research on fermented foods. There is something to it).

I’m gonna play with this one a bit more. You’ll see a few raw food recipes in the next few days.

Eat something that good for your body today. Food is fuel.

I haven’t spent a lot of time in the garden because of my travel schedule. I took some time to pick some herbs.

Pixk your herbs and place them in a mason jar with water. They will last a week or so.

The herbs are:
Mint
Parsley
Cilantro
Bas

Gardening is part art and a lot of science. I decided to add pollinators to the garden. I’m using containers (for now) to attract bees, and butterflies.

I don’t know the names of these flowers but I love the colors and the different floral textures.

I have something special in mind for this tree segment.

Choosing the Right Trellis for Your Garden: A Handy Guide
Trellises are essential for supporting climbing and vining vegetables, making your garden not only more organized but also more productive. The type of trellis you choose can significantly impact the health and yield of your plants. Here’s a quick guide to different trellis styles and the vegetables that grow best with each one.
1. Cage Trellis
Best for: Peas, Peppers
This cylindrical structure is perfect for compact spaces and works well with plants that need light to moderate support. Peas climb naturally, and peppers benefit from the added stability as they grow and bear fruit.
2. Tripod Trellis
Best for: Melons, Peppers
Made by binding poles together at the top, this trellis is both functional and decorative. It's sturdy enough to support heavier fruit like melons, while also keeping pepper plants upright.
3. Flat Trellis
Best for: Beans, Melons
Ideal for vertical gardening, a flat trellis provides plenty of surface area for climbing beans and melons. This setup maximizes space and improves airflow, reducing disease risk.
4. A-Frame Trellis
Best for: Squash, Beans
The A-frame design is strong and stable, making it great for heavier climbers like squash. Beans can also thrive on this structure, weaving their way up either side with ease.
5. Arch Trellis
Best for: Beans, Melons
This eye-catching trellis adds height and visual interest to your garden. It's a great way to train vining plants like beans and melons to create a green archway.
6. Stake Trellis
Best for: Tomatoes, Eggplant
Simple and effective, the stake trellis is a go-to for tomatoes, keeping them off the ground and reducing rot. It also supports eggplants as they mature and grow heavier.
Conclusion
Matching the right trellis with the right crop ensures healthy growth, easier harvesting, and a beautiful garden layout. Whether you're growing compact peppers or sprawling squash, there's a trellis style that will support your plants and your gardening goals.
