Arc for the River Valley

The Arc offers a wide variety of exciting and stimulating activities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

There are more than 4.6 million Americans who live with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD). At the local level, in Sebastian and Crawford counties alone, 25% of children/adults are living with a "cognitive disability" that impacts their lives. These individuals need services and support to become valued, contributing members of their communities. The Arc for the River Valley focuses on providing recreational activities as well as advocacy and educational support for individuals with I/DD and their caregivers. The Arc serves a membership of over 460 members. With your past support we were able to continue to keep our member dues low, to keep our activities and events free, and to provide free snacks and drinks to members. To continue our current services as well as add new ones, we need your continued support. Due to the economic issues, 2020 was a difficult year financially for all non-profits. Please consider giving a tax deductible donation to the Arc for the River Valley. Your donation will help us continue to provide support and services to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc for the River Valley is a proud United Way partner agency. Debbie, Brittany, and Keysha attended United Way of Fort Smith’s inaugural DayBreak event this morning at the ACHE Research Institute Health and Wellness Center. We’re proud to share that The Arc received recognition for 100% participation in our 2025 payroll deduction campaign!🧡 It was inspiring to see the impact United Way has in our community and how people come together to support families in need.

Our Easter Egg Hunt at Camp Hachya (Two Carrot Ranch) was full of joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments! 💛 We had 46 amazing members come out and show up BIG for a day of fun! From the powerful energy of Drums Alive 🥁 to the excitement of the egg hunt!

Thank you to Camp Hachya for welcoming us and hosting your very first event on your beautiful land! 🌿 Your energy, kindness, and hospitality truly made the day extra special. You kept our members smiling, moving, and dancing the entire time, and we are so grateful for the love and effort you poured into making this event a success. We’re so honored to have been a part of such a special beginning and can’t wait to create more memories together in the future! 💕

Wow! What an incredible night at our dance! 💃🕺

We had over 200 members join us on the dance floor, and the energy was amazing from start to finish. From great music and dancing to enjoying pizza and time with friends, it was a night full of smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the night so special. Seeing our community come together like this is what it’s all about! ❤️
