We are a free standing birth center offering full scope midwifery care for families of all backgrounds. Most insurances and Medicaid are accepted.

Dear Birth Cottage Families,
To say it has been a difficult year and a half would be a gross understatement. First a life-altering car accident coming to the center one night followed by my husband's cancer diagnosis and ultimate passing recently. This time of upheaval has been unparalleled.

To my family and front-end staff along with the community midwives who stood by my side day and night, I owe my life to you. To the families who sent cards, flowers, gifts of love, and especially food, there will never be enough gratitude in the world. I never got a chance to send a card to each person individually but know that I appreciated every single thought and gesture to my very soul. Your prayers and kind thoughts got me through the most difficult time of my life and I am forever grateful.

As I return to work this week full time, I am ready to embrace the next chapter of life without my dear sweet life partner. He helped me build my birth centers from my visions and make them realities. Our children carry on his work along with close friends who have taken on the responsibilities of facility management and development. I look forward to seeing all of you in person once again.

One thing is for sure- babies will continue being born. And we stand committed to safe, affordable, accessible, and compassionate midwifery care in our own communities. Much love to you all,

Our Story

Our Birth Center began in 2002 and has grown into a community of almost 1,000 members and just as many babies! Our desire is to help families become empowered in their healthcare decision making. We are now growing to open a new location in Salem, NH! Our free standing birth centers offer full scope midwifery care for families of all backgrounds and belief systems.

It matters how you give birth and how your baby is born. Being pregnant and giving birth are natural life experiences for which the body is well designed. Midwives are experts in normal birth who support families in the process of birthing their babies safely, unhindered and with confidence. Every person deserves access to the high quality, safe, attentive, affordable, personalized and respectful care of a midwife. At the Birth Cottage, our midwives are dedicated to providing safe, empowering, family-centered care for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.
