Bringing Therapy Home Center-based therapy to target speech, language, social skills, fine motor, feeding, sensory and spe Tips are provided by BTH team members.

Bringing Therapy Home provides specialized, individual therapy for children, birth -18 years old, in the following areas:
-Apraxia of speech
-Articulation disorders
-Phonological errors
-Autism
-Assistive technology
-Expressive language delay
-Receptive language delay
-Social Skill deficits
-Stuttering
-Language based learning disabilities
-Vocabulary deficits
-Phonological Awareness

Therapy occurs in our center-based program at 435 and College in Overland Park, Kansas. An individualized treatment plan is developed that is multi-sensory, child-centered, and play based. Parent collaboration is an essential component to Bringing Therapy Home. The Bringing Therapy Home page was established to provide daily ideas for parents, caregivers, therapists, and teachers to naturally embed skills within a child's daily routine. The posted content is based on current research, professional experience, and personal opinion and experience.

Look who is ELEVEN!

Happy Birthday, Lucca!

Undoubtedly, Lucca is the HAPPIEST human on the planet.

His joy is infectious.

He makes friends with everyone.

He laughs constantly and has the kind of laugh that makes you laugh.

When he is in the space, EVERYONE feels loved. He has a genuine interest in others, remembers names and details, and listens as you share information.

If he is a fan of yours, you will receive beautifully created coloring pictures.

He has to work harder than most people and has already overcome numerous obstacles. In the last year, he has developed incredible skills.

Lucca is inspiring and I'm one of the most fortunate to know him.

There are people you meet and, immediately, feel gratitude.

Michelle Sindorf, that is you.

You allow (and encourage) people to be exactly who they are.

Your acceptance is the reason people are their most vulnerable and human selves.

You hold space for others.

You are the one that many feel relief when you enter the room.

I remember the first time I met you - you were magic from the start!

Since meeting you all those years ago, you have grown and changed so much, yet remained the amazing person you are.

You radiate warmth and joy! Your responses are thoughtful and often include a big smille!

Look at the AMAZING opportunity I was given today!

I got to go into CoCo's classroom, meet all of her friends and teachers, and teach them all about CoCo.

CoCo is Autistic and we want her to be given an inclusive space where she is understood and valued for the extraordinary person she is.

How is this done? By helping the kids she spends every day with better understand how CoCo communicates, learns, and plays.

CoCo was there and confirmed everything we said about her. How did she do it? By smiling and moving.

Like I told her class and teachers, CoCo sees and hears everything we say about her. She knows if you believe in her, if you think she is smart, and if you like her.

At the end of the presentation I asked the students how they could play with CoCo. A boy raised his hand and said, "I can invite her to play soccer because she loves to run."

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Inclusion benefits all of us.

When we lean into curiosity and better understand someone, we all win.
