Center-based therapy to target speech, language, social skills, fine motor, feeding, sensory and spe Tips are provided by BTH team members.

Bringing Therapy Home provides specialized, individual therapy for children, birth -18 years old, in the following areas:
-Apraxia of speech
-Articulation disorders
-Phonological errors
-Autism
-Assistive technology
-Expressive language delay
-Receptive language delay
-Social Skill deficits
-Stuttering
-Language based learning disabilities
-Vocabulary deficits
-Phonological Awareness

Therapy occurs in our center-based program at 435 and College in Overland Park, Kansas. An individualized treatment plan is developed that is multi-sensory, child-centered, and play based. Parent collaboration is an essential component to Bringing Therapy Home. The Bringing Therapy Home page was established to provide daily ideas for parents, caregivers, therapists, and teachers to naturally embed skills within a child's daily routine. The posted content is based on current research, professional experience, and personal opinion and experience.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Liam!

You are an absolutely delightful and wonderful boy!

You have endless curiosity and can play for hours upon hours!

You are naturally kind and loving. To see that quality in a person so young is absolutely beautiful to witness.

You love playing cars, dinosaurs, and in the sensory table. When I'm with you, I get to be a kid again - sitting there on the floor making all of the car sounds and dinosaur noises.

You are playful, easily smile, you love your people, and you take moments where you take it all in.

Every week, I tell your mom, "You have absolutely amazing kids!"

It's true. You are one unlike any other!

Everyone says they are the number one Chief's fan but I can attest, Allen is the BIGGEST Chief's fan!

Every week, Allen comes to BTH and gives us a recap of the game. He knows every player's name/position and can recall in great detail moments from the game.

Tonight, Allen experienced a SIGNIFICANT life moment when he spent time with , a retired Wide Receiver from the Chiefs.

Gehrig cleared his schedule to spend time with Allen at BTH.

To see this moment was beyond magical!

Gehrig was absolutely amazing - standing there talking with Allen, sharing insight, and listening as Allen shared his opinions from the sport.

But when Gehrig pulled out his Super Bowl ring and Allen got to try it on, a core memory was developed immediately.

Gehrig, after you left, Allen said, "I'm so happy right now!"

You treated Allen with dignity, respect, and talked to him in a way that we will not forget - with genuine interest, humor, and kindness!

You are truly made for this!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This moment was everything and more!

Happy Birthday, Liz!

In life, people come along that you immediately bond with - people that are so easy to relate to - who find humor in every situation - who welcome a challenge - who make the environment feel better by being a part of it - that's Liz Weaver.

Liz cares deeply about others and is constantly assessing a situation to determine if she is doing enough. It's incredible to see a person that does so much to genuinely wonder how else they can contribute. When Liz is around, you know you have a strong team member involved.

She adapts to every situation using a calm and positive attitude. She laughs at herself, is constantly seeking more knowledge and information, and collaborates with families, children, and other team members.

Liz, thank you for your laughter that fills and for always being up for a challenge. You are one of the most remarkable people and I'm grateful for your contributions to our team. You are making a significant impact on this world!

Happy Birthday, Isaac!

9! 9! 9!

Isaac's energy is infectious. He goes for it - in a way I wish more people would go after what they want in this lifetime.

He proves limitations only occur when people believe limitations are there.

I listen to him share his ideas, watch him play in a space and interact with others and I think, "That kid is going big places in this lifetime."

His smile is genuine, his brain works fast, and he loves his people in the biggest way.

If you want something figured out, give it to Isaac.

If you want to feel like a child again, spend time with Isaac. His love for toys and games are a reminder of how important it is to stop and play.

He loves his people fully and deeply. When he loves you, he lets you know.

He is everything wonderful about a person!

And today he is NINE!

A printing adventure!

We placed pom poms, feathers, and pipe cleaners on the glass and hit “print” - in color, of course!

We practiced patience and curiosity as we waited to see how the image would appear.

The results were magical. The process was just as fun as the outcome

The best part was the JOY in discovering something unexpected and celebrating the process.

I never know where the day or a session will take me and I absolutely love it!

Every child has ideas that are worth sharing!

Every child has stories to tell!

When we give kids unlimited access to a robust communication system and honor all forms of communication, their brilliance shines through.

CoCo has been forming elaborate sentences on her AAC device.

She is sharing her play ideas, retelling events from her day, and letting us know her incredible thoughts.

When we trust children, believe in their abilities, and give them the right tools, they show us just how much they have to say.

Every voice should be given the opportunity to be heard and valued.

CoCo is proof of POSSIBILITIES, especially when given OPPORTUNITIES.

I made this post in July 2024 and, because today is Harrison's birthday, I'm sharing this post again ...

We are in the process of remodeling our basement and I came across this picture.

Immediately, my heart was consumed with love and appreciation for that 3 year-old boy in the picture.

It isn't just any picture.

This is Harrison - taken over 23 years ago.

One person can change the trajectory of another person's life.

Harrison changed everything for me.

During graduate school, a professor mentioned a family was looking for a student to come to their home to work with their family.

Of course, I wanted to do it.

Did I know what I was doing?

Absolutely not.

Did I immediately know I was exactly where I was supposed be?

Absolutely.

Because of Harrison and his family, I knew I would eventually want to open a private practice for the opportunity to play, naturally embed skills, and, most importantly, collaborate with families.

All because of Harrison.

In the same section where I found Harrison's picture, I also found my note of what I wanted for BTH - written over 12 years ago.

It all happened and all because of Harrison.

Oh, this kid ❤️❤️❤️.

I get the opportunity to know some really cool humans.

Some of the best humans are the intuitive ones. The ones that wait, observe you, pay attention, and then use that knowledge to know if you really do like them.

That's Connor.

He's intuitive, brilliant, a deep thinker, and a kind, thoughtful child.

He recently took a trip to Hawaii with his parents.

On Tuesday, when he walked into our session, he said, "I brought you something from Hawaii!"

His mom shared that - before he even left for the trip - he said he was going to bring me back something since I had never been.

My two favorite things are coffee and chocolate.

There - in his hands - Kona Chocolate Coffee Bar.

We sat together, looked at pictures from his Hawaiian vacation, and enjoyed the chocolate bar together.

Connor, your gesture and thoughtfulness meant the world to me!

You are an amazing child and I'm the luckiest to know you!
