Let's Talk About Air Quality + Little Lungs.

If you were anywhere near Fargo last week, you probably noticed the smoky smell and bad air quality. Although it has since cleared up, we may get some more in the future.

While most healthy kids bounce back quickly after brief exposure, babies and toddlers have smaller airways and developing lungs, so it’s worth paying attention to.

If you are worried about it, here are some simple ways to help protect your child on those especially hazy days:
- Keep windows closed and stay indoors.
- Use an air purifier if you have one.
- Encourage fluids — smoky air can dry out little throats and noses.
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities until the air clears up.

These tips are just here to help if you're especially concerned or want to be extra cautious, especially for babies or kids with sensitive lungs. As always, trust your instincts and talk to your child’s pediatrician if you’re unsure.

Summer is packed with fun events — fairs, festivals, park days, family outings — and while it’s great to get out and make memories, the heat can be a lot, especially for little ones.

Here are some tips on how to keep your child cool:

Pack cold drinks and refreshing snacks, such as fruit and yogurt.
Bring the shade with you — stroller fans and clip-on umbrellas.
Know your child’s limits — take breaks and find shade.
Comfort over cute — dress them in loose, breathable clothing.

A little prep goes a long way in keeping those smiles going!

Safe & Sensory-Friendly 4th of July Fun 🎆

Fireworks and big crowds aren’t for every little one — and that’s okay!

Here are some gentle, joyful ways to celebrate the 4th of July with your child:
🎨 Red, white, and blue finger painting
🌭 Backyard picnic with favorite snacks
🧺 Cozy tent or blanket fort with festive books
💦 Splash time with a small water table

July is National Make a Difference to Children Month!

Every day at Myna Early Intervention, we get to be part of the little moments that mean everything — like a toddler saying “mama” for the first time, or taking a step after weeks of hard work. These are the wins that make our hearts burst.

To every parent who’s trusted us, every therapist who shows up with care and creativity, and every partner who believes in what we do — thank you for helping us make a difference.

Fireworks & Little Ears: Helping Kids Who Don't Love Loud Noises 🎆

Not every child loves the 4th of July — and that’s okay.
For children with sensory sensitivities, fireworks can feel overwhelming or even scary.

Here are a few tips to help make the holiday a little easier for everyone:
👂 Use noise-canceling headphones or ear muffs.
🏠 Watch fireworks from inside the house or car.
💡 Let your child choose a “quiet space” they can go to if they feel overwhelmed.
🧸 Bring comfort items, such as a favorite blanket or toy.
💬 Validate their feelings: “That was loud! You’re safe. I’m right here.”

You’re not alone — and your child isn’t “too sensitive.” Their brain is just processing things differently. And the more we meet them with understanding, the more secure they’ll feel.
