Coalition for a Healthy Oregon Advancing health policy that empowers local communities.

The Coalition for a Healthy Oregon (COHO) is an association of eight Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) and provider groups that are working with many of Oregon’s coordinated care organizations (CCOs). COHO members serve Oregon's most vulnerable populations through the state’s Medicaid program, the Oregon Health Plan (OHP). We currently care for nearly half of the state’s OHP population, the majority of which are children under 18. COHO works with providers in their communities to assure access to high-quality, cost-effective care for those most in need. It has a proven record of balancing the essential, dynamic elements—cost, quality and access—required to effectively serve the health care needs of OHP members.

A great example of an Oregon CCO meeting the real needs in their community.

Yamhill Community Care supports people who are on the Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) in Yamhill County and parts of Washington and Polk Counties, helping them connect with providers and access services.

On Juneteenth, we honor the strength and resilience of those who fought for freedom and recognize that true equity includes access to healthcare, dignity, and well-being for all. At COHO, we’re committed to advancing policies that support health justice and stronger, healthier communities.

Medicaid cuts directly impact the 1.4 million Oregonians who depend on OHP for access to physical, behavioral and dental care.

Cutting Medicaid means cutting crucial support to Oregon providers.

Local voices driving local decisions. That's how health care works in Oregon, and it's why CCOs are creating better care for members.

Agree! Making sure children and families can meet their basic nutrition needs leads to better overall health.

When you cut SNAP, you’re not cutting bureaucracy. You’re cutting a child’s dinner. You’re cutting their breakfast. You’re cutting their family’s dignity.

Fully funding Medicaid is something we should all get behind. This impacts real patients and real families here in Oregon. Preventive care costs taxpayers less in the end, and treatment for cancer and chronic illness makes Oregonians healthier.

I am outraged by the proposed Medicaid cuts. One in three Oregonians rely on Medicaid – the Oregon Health Plan – for their health insurance. That’s 1.4 million neighbors and loved ones. Their proposal is not just shortsighted – it’s morally indefensible.
