Community Dental Board President nominated for Athena Award:
🌟 ATHENA NOMINEE SPOTLIGHT: Suzanne Craig🌟
Suzanne Craig is described as a natural mentor and leader. We might add dynamo to that description too! She serves as the Public Health Administrator for the Green River District Health Department. Through her innovative approach she has secured more than $92 million dollars in donated medical and prescription services as well as another $12.5 million in other community health grants. She tirelessly was a key leader in the community’s COVID response efforts, serving on the frontlines to help staff. Suzanne has mentored 65 student interns and 26 family medicine residents in her work with the health department. In her role, she has been an advocate for better healthcare access, health equality, domestic violence and dental care. Her expertise makes her a sought after speaker and presenter and she was featured on CNN. She is the founder and board chair of the Community Dental Clinic (U of L Dental Clinic) that has served thousands of people in our community with dental issues. She has been a dedicated supporter and board chair of OASIS helping to secure grants, partnerships, mentoring directors and securing a new fully-owned facility. She is member of Impact100, Healthy Horizon Health Coalition and the Daviess/Henderson County Diabetes Coalitions. Suzanne is ordained minister who actively engages in Bible studies, support groups, counseling and outreach projects. Her impact on women is seen in her professional life and her service to the community. She has been a trail blazer in advocacy, support and empowerment for women and the community has seen dividends from her efforts.
