Wow! A whole year has passed again, and without any interest, I did not update this series. Yet, why would people be interested when they don't know me, what wisdom I carry from my life experience, etc.?

Like everyone, I've been super busy this past year with other things, but I will have more time starting in January 2025 and will do better to help you get to know me and what I can offer. Also, to work on my website and book. Until then, I am interested in sharing more, so if it feels correct, thanks for commenting, liking, and sharing the tiny bit I have offered.

What is your choice for information? 60-second sound bites that do nothing toward making the connections we all need now (Instagram / TikTok, ugh), or are you ready for some depth? YouTube?

The Chinese Farmer Story

Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer whose horse ran away. That evening, all of his neighbors came around to commiserate. They said, “We are so sorry to hear your horse has run away. This is most unfortunate.” The farmer said, “Maybe.”

The next day, the horse came back, bringing seven wild horses with it. In the evening, everybody came back and said, “Oh, isn’t that lucky? What a great turn of events. You now have eight horses!” The farmer again said, “Maybe.”

The following day, his son tried to break one of the horses. While riding it, he was thrown and broke his leg. The neighbors said, “Oh dear, that’s too bad,” and the farmer responded, “Maybe.”

The next day, the conscription officers came around to conscript people into the army, and they rejected his son because he had a broken leg. Again, all the neighbors came around and said, “Isn’t that great!” Again, he said, “Maybe.”
