The anatomical position is a standardized reference point used in anatomy to describe the location of body parts and movements.

Knowing the anatomical position helps assess movement 🏃🏾posture🧍🏾‍♂️and biomechanics 🏋️ that leads to

- ensuring proper communication with correct instructions avoiding confusion
- analyzing motion patterns based on anatomical planes (sagittal, frontal, transverse).
- Identifying proper form preventing injury
- Expanding program design and efficiency coaching based on joint mechanics, muscle function, and leverage.

Whether a coach is teaching squats, sprints, or rehab exercises having knowledge of anatomy increases a coach’s ability to modify movements based on individual performance needs.

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step” - Lao Tzu

Earning my Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certification completes the last of NASM’s elite training courses for me. Looking back from the very beginning of this journey down to the remembrance of the conversation that I had with an NASM phone representative has truly impacted my life in many different ways.

I look forward to the continuance of building relationships through fitness performance, health, and wellness applying the information in continuous practice to improve not only others lives but also my own using combination’s of each certification that I have received thus far.

Here’s to an exciting new chapter of improvement 🎉

30 minutes a day will keep the doctor & pain away 🙌🏾

Coming from health complications myself there are things even for me that bothers me like my lower back from a degenerative disc in S1 and from my osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. Moving for me not only keeps me going through the day but it helps me to have a positive mindset to continue to set the tone for my family, friends, career goals, and simply being a kid at heart and with my abilities to make a difference in my own life.

So, I hope that you are doing the best that you can by being the best that you can. It doesn’t take much but it does take action.

The 4 pt. Quadruped is a great exercise for building a strong core and spinal stability that helps in everyday tasks.

This exercise is beneficial for people of all levels and can be used to prevent injury that helps align the spine and is an ideal exercise for people who have low back issues and hyper mobility that can help develop balance and posture.

Other benefits include

* abdominal activation and control
* hip and shoulder disassociation
* hip and shoulder stability and strength
* reduces lower back pain and is regarded as a safe exercise during recovery from a back injury.

How to perform this exercise ⬇️

- start on all fours with the spine in neutral position.
- Draw the abs and tuck the chin.
- Lift both knees off the floor and slowly extend one leg with toes point away from the body.
- Keep the leg straight and lift it to the body height.
- Slowly return the extended leg to the bent knee position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions before switching to the next leg.

Finding your “why” can unlock so much within your goals and your fitness consistency. Using these tools I truly believe will help you define and create your own unique fitness experience. It did for me! My goal was to simply lose weight to be better for me and only me. Of course, the physical changes of the byproduct of losing weight created an lifestyle change that improved my overall health and wellbeing the goal was and still is to keep the weight off. Enjoying life until I am 80 years old is more than a season for me, it’s a way to keep my goals intact for me, my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Passing a life time of information through experience and knowledge.

So, have you discovered your why? If so, what is it? If not, let’s help you find the perfect reason to be the best you for you. I promise you once you find it… The rest is worth it.

The only goal is to become better & stronger 💪🏾

The mission isn’t the load in itself for me, it’s to build full range of motion through the load while contracting and controlling the load with a purpose in connection to building my strength.

Total body supersets has helped me to focus more on achieving my weekly goals by connecting with the same body parts consistently throughout the week.

Being a certified personal trainer doesn’t mean you are God’s gift to the earth. It means that by doing the work, you want to continue to improve yourself and others through different planes of motions in a progressive or regressive state using the tools learned.

To learn is to do and to do is to apply, without it there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Connecting with my body is the best form of self and to do that I must embrace and explore my body as well as my mind to connect to my body to be able to help others in a healthy and efficient way.

Knowing is the key to doing which brings success. Do you agree?
