Let’s talk about “EMPOWERMENT” It can be a contentious word.

When I think about my own empowerment, I think about recognizing and honoring my full humanity. I think about recognizing and honoring my gifts and talents, recognizing and honoring my needs and desires, recognizing and honoring my full potential. And it’s about recognizing that I always have a choice that no matter what is happening in the world externally, I always have a choice about how I respond to circumstances and events. And this is true for people of all genders. I offer this as another definition of empowerment.

It is the most important work we can do for our own growth and development.

Happy Friday everyone! Take time this weekend for rest, relaxation, and renewal. Go outside and enjoy the sunshine!

While you're out there, take some deep breaths. Most of us spend our days taking shallow breaths. We forget to breathe deeply. After taking a few deep breaths you can feel the difference in your body.

Try to enjoy your activities by being mindful as your are doing them. That means not thinking about yesterday or tomorrow, and focusing on what you are doing in the moment.

You've heard this one before: "It's about the journey, not the destination."

But really, if we focused on the process we'd save ourselves so much stress and anxiety.

We'd be more brave, because it wouldn't matter if we failed.

We'd find more enjoyment in the present moment, and not postpone happiness.

The outcome, the achievement we check off - Who is that really for? Why do we want it? Are we really better for it? Will it make you happier or will you just find something else on which to hinge your happiness???

Just some food for thought.🤔😬
