Position Title: HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman
Department: Construction
Reports To: Sheet Metal Superintendent

Position Summary
The HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation of ductwork and sheet metal systems for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) projects. This role ensures that field crews work safely, efficiently, and according to plans, specifications, and code requirements. The Sheet Metal Foreman serves as the key liaison between project management, other trades, and the installation team, ensuring quality and timely completion of all assigned work.

Key Responsibilities
-Supervise, direct, and schedule daily work activities of sheet metal installers and apprentices.
-Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan duct layout and installation.
-Ensure accurate installation of ductwork, fittings, and accessories for supply, return, and exhaust systems.
-Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies; lead daily safety meetings and enforce safe work practices.
-Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to maintain productivity and schedule.
-Inspect duct installation for accuracy, quality, and adherence to mechanical codes and project requirements.
-Work with project managers, superintendents, and general contractors to resolve field issues and sequencing conflicts.
-Train, mentor, and evaluate apprentices and less experienced crew members.
-Complete daily reports, timecards, and jobsite documentation as required.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, tools, and jobsite resources.

Qualifications
-Minimum 5+ years of sheet metal/HVAC duct installation experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
-Strong knowledge of HVAC duct fabrication, installation, and mechanical systems.
-Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
-Working knowledge of SMACNA standards and mechanical codes.
-Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
-OSHA 30 certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain.
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
-Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in various site conditions.

Position Title: HVAC Pipe Foreman

Reports To: Pipe Superintendent

Position Summary:
The HVAC Pipe Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the installation of piping systems for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) projects. This position provides on-site leadership to pipefitters and apprentices, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with specifications, codes, and quality standards. The Foreman will serve as the primary point of contact between field crews, project management, and other trades.

Key Responsibilities:

We're excited to partner with LeChase Construction SE Region, a full-service construction management and general contracting firm with deep experience across many industries, on the renovation and addition to UNC's Avery Residence Hall. Originally opened in 1958, Avery is receiving extensive updates that will modernize the building while enhancing accessibility and student life.

Our team's HVAC scope includes new dedicated outdoor air systems, fan coil units, exhaust fans, pumps, radiant heaters, piping, ductwork, rigging, insulation, vibration control, system controls, and more, all designed to ensure comfort, efficiency, and reliability for years to come.

Once complete, Avery Residence Hall will feature renovated student housing with new accessible suites, updated ground-floor spaces for Carolina Housing, and a new addition with an elevator, study rooms, and improved circulation. Site improvements will enhance accessibility and connectivity around the building, including new walkways, a drop-off drive, and updated utilities, landscaping, and storm drainage systems, creating a more functional and welcoming environment for UNC students.

We’re excited to partner with Samet Corporation, a commercial construction and development company in Raleigh, North Carolina, on the renovation of Page Hall at NC State University. Home to the mechanical engineering department, this four-story building is undergoing transformation to support the next generation of engineers.

Our team is proud to support the project with a full HVAC package, including cut/make safe for demolition, installation of one air handling unit, two fan coil units, sixty variable air volume boxes, exhaust fans, louvers, fire and smoke dampers, electric water heaters, variable frequency drives with vibration and inertia bases, air flow measuring stations, pumps, an air control system, heat exchangers, coil kits, steel and copper piping for hot and chilled water, steam and condensate return piping, galvanized rectangular and spiral ductwork, rigging, and insulation.

We're excited to partner with Williams Realty & Building, a full-service residential and commercial construction, development, and property management firm based in Raleigh, on the renovation and addition to Pittman Auditorium at Saint Mary’s School.

Built in 1906–1907, this Neo-Classical Revival building is a Raleigh Historic Property listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and it’s now receiving its first major update in over 100 years. Williams Realty & Building is leading the renovation and expansion, which includes a full interior modernization, new windows and doors, ADA improvements, hazardous materials abatement, and a new 3,500-square-foot addition connected by a glass atrium.

Our team is proud to support the project with a complete HVAC package, including new air handling units, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, exhaust fans, louvers, boilers, pumps, and a modern air control system. We’re also handling ductwork installation, piping, rigging, insulation, testing and balancing, and controls to ensure the system’s performance and efficiency.

Once complete, the renovated Pittman Auditorium will provide updated, accessible, and functional spaces to serve the Saint Mary’s community for generations to come. We’re proud to play a role in preserving and revitalizing this historic Raleigh landmark.
