Our 2025 200 Hour Teacher Training gets underway this year on July 12, 2025. Applicants to the training must pre-qualify by taking a minimum of 48 asana classes and 15 meditation, chanting, or pranayama classes at Yoga East by June 30, 2025. We now offer classes in-person, Livestream and by Replay. Message us if you have questions about the training, but don't wait - start taking classes now.

Today is Give for Good Louisville Day, the biggest fundraiser for local nonprofits. I'm sure most of my friends know that this is the yoga school where I teach and am president. It's a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization. No one is turned away from classes for inability to pay. We provide scholarships for regular classes, teacher training, and study in India. I found Yoga East in 1990 shortly after I moved to Louisville, and met Maja Trigg, who founded this school in 1971. Yoga East and Maja changed my life. Thanks to walking through the Yoga East door, I've been able to study with master teachers here in the U.S., in India, and most recently in Crete for seven days. I want people to share the life-transforming experience I had, so I continue to teach according to the principles I learned from Maja. Please consider a donation so that we can keep this organization going for 53 more years. No amount is too small and every donation is deeply appreciated.

For yoga teachers or teacher trainees, anyone interested in having your own studio space, here is a building which is available on Story Avenue. It has hardwood floors and a nice atmosphere. Owner's phone number is there on the picture. It is now a Pilates studio, but may come available if someone is interested.

Just watched this movie and recommend it. It's a little different from Ramanujan's life, but close enough. His bio says that he is from the South Indian Iyengar clan, perhaps a distant relative of Mr. BKS Iyengar. He was known for his revolutionary mathematical formulas which he would see in dreams and believed them to be the voice of Lakshmi.

I highly recommend Richard Miller. I took a class with him at the first Yoga Journal Conference in San Francisco in 1996. He introduced me to mudras and changed my practice and teaching. He is an esteemed teacher.
