Excited to share that I’ll be speaking at the Raising Adventurous Eaters webinar on March 13th at 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST!
🍎 As many of you know the first 1000 days of a baby's life present a critical window to shape taste preferences, encourage eating development, introduce a variety of foods, optimize allergic response, and identify feeding challenges early on. 🍎
The first 1,000 days refer to the period from conception to a child's second birthday (approximately 270 days of pregnancy + 730 days post-birth). This window is widely recognized as a critical phase for growth, brain development, and long-term health outcomes.
🍎
During this time, nutrition, environment, and caregiving play essential roles in shaping a child's cognitive, physical, and metabolic development. Proper nutrition during pregnancy and infancy can help prevent maternal and infant morbidities, support immune health, and establish healthy eating habits that last a lifetime.
🍎
Hosted by Partnership for a Healthier America and the Dr. Yum Project, this event brings together contributors to the Raising Adventurous Eaters resource & toolkit—an invaluable guide filled with expert-backed tips. This is truly a guide that you can pick up whenever you need to feel reassured and confident about the decisions you are making for nutrition in these early & powerful days. The latest edition now includes a food allergen exposure chart and is available in Spanish!
🍎
I'm incredibly grateful to Ella Daniels for this connection over 2 years ago. Thank you to Partnership for a Healthier America for the opportunity to contribute to the Pregnancy Nutrition section of this toolkit alongside Carmen Berry, MPH, RD, LD.
🍎
Looking forward to a great discussion with fellow experts—hope to see you there! 🍎
