This weekend, we are going to be leaving friday afternoon and heading up the Asheville area to assist in search and rescue and food/water delivery. For those who remember when we did the Pine Ridge Community support fundraiser at the peak of COVID in 2020, all the money will go to help the community and an explanation of how the money was used will be provided after our trip.

Because I am in graduate school and have limited funds, this trip will only be possible with your contributions. Please support with whatever you are able, large or small. All of it goes to the people, nothing in our pockets.

The goal is to use the money to help with needs related to water, food, gas for the boat and truck (search/rescue & supply delivery), a chainsaw, and other needs that may arise as we get our feet on the ground. Any funds that exceed the amount we utilize during our efforts will be donated to a (preferably grassroots and indigenous) non profit doing local work and rescue efforts.

Thank you so much relatives, and may the Creator bless you all and all of us as we seek to bring healing and love everyday to our communities and relatives (human and non).

Mimosa is a plant medicine that I (Nick, an admin) recently have started working with. Very helpful for anxiety and depression. I share it here for mental health awareness, of which the month of May has been made into. However, I believe mental health is so important, we need to make it year long conversations.

Cedar is Recovery Medicine

One of the Sacred Medicines, it is used to purify.

Taking cedar baths and washing with cedar water brings healing to body and Spirit. You can smudge with cedar to cleanse the air and create a sacred space. (Remember to open windows. You don't just want to chase bad spirits around the house as they try to get away but can't escape, do you? 🤣)

When you burn cedar in smudge or sacred fire, and the cedar crackles, we believe it is calling the attention of the Spirits to the offering you are making. Cedar is also used in other ceremony, such as fasting and sweat lodge, as protection from negative influences that could bring harm.

The scent of cedar gently relaxes the body. It cleanses the mind of angry and aggressive thoughts. Cedar will ground you, like its roots that connect it to Our Mother, and connect you to the Earth Wisdom of the Ancestors. Cedar's healing gift to the People is strength and courage.
