Are acupuncture and dry needling the same? I continue to see patients and the public in general so confused about the current state of the “acupuncture” profession. Yes they are technically one and the same. Read above ⬆️ it’s like saying tea and an herbal infusion are different. 🙄 The difference lies in the practitioner and their training. Acupuncture for good reasons is so misunderstood. Yes it is research supported, and we understand its brilliant mechanisms through western anatomy and physiology.

Often where we feel pain is not the source of the pain. Similar to the idea that if someone has eczema, it’s not typically an issue with the skin, more likely it’s a gut issue. I love anatomy, and trigger point referral patterns give us a road map to understand part of the puzzle.
